Forever Justice

The Forever WoW community blacklist, in game. Get warned when a player the community found responsible for scamming, ninja looting, harassment, griefing or cheating whispers you, invites you, trades with you, joins your group — or when you simply mouse over them.

Built for World of Warcraft: Forever. The list comes from the Forever WoW community: members report bad behaviour with evidence, the community's staff review every report and rule on it, and players found responsible can be blacklisted for a set time or permanently. Every ruling can be appealed once.

Forever Justice warns — it never hides anyone and never reports anything. What you do with the warning is up to you.

Getting started

1. Install it through the CurseForge app, or unzip the ForeverJustice folder into Interface\AddOns. No dependencies.
2. Get the list. Log in at forevercommunity.org/justice/blacklist (you need to be a member of the Forever WoW Discord) and press Copy export.
3. Import it. In game type /fj import, paste with Ctrl+V and press Import.

Addons can't go online, so the paste is the update: re-import every week or two. The addon reminds you at login once your list is 14 days old.

What it does

Warnings

• Tooltip — mouse over a listed player and their tooltip says BLACKLISTED, with what for and for how long.
• Group invites — a warning in chat, a raid-warning banner and a sound, every time a listed player invites you.
• Trades — the same loud warning when a listed player opens a trade with you.
• Group joins — a loud warning when a listed player is in your party or raid.
• Whispers — a quiet chat warning the first time a listed player whispers you each session.

Every warning names the case number and the community's one-line reason, so you know exactly what you're dealing with.

Optional auto-decline

Switch on Decline their invites automatically (or /fj decline on) and group invites from listed players are declined for you, with a line in chat saying who it was.

Minimap button

A button on the minimap's rim: left-click opens the window, right-click goes straight to importing a new list, drag moves it round the rim. Hover it to see how many players are listed and how old your list is; it turns orange when it's time to re-import. Hide it in the options or with /fj minimap.

The window

/fj opens a window showing how many players are listed and how old your list is, a search over the list, and your options: tooltips, whispers, invites, group joins, trades, sound and raid warning, auto-decline, and the minimap button. Each can be switched on or off.

Fair by design

• Full names only. Forever character names are two words. The addon only ever matches a player's full name — read from the game by their character, not from the first name the client often shows — so nobody gets flagged for sharing a first name with someone listed.
• Temporary means temporary. A time-limited listing stops counting on its end date, even if you haven't re-imported.
• Only real rulings. Only blacklistings are exported. Warnings, dismissed reports and rulings overturned on appeal never reach the addon.
• A bad paste is refused, not half-imported. The export carries a checksum, so a partial or edited copy is rejected with a message telling you to copy it again.
• Accented names work on every client language. Names are compared the same way the website compares them, whatever language your game is in.

Commands

/foreverjustice works too. On clients with the addon compartment (the menu by the minimap), Forever Justice is listed there as well, with the same clicks and tooltip.

Requirements

No dependencies, no libraries. The list itself needs a free account on forevercommunity.org (log in with Discord) and membership of the Forever WoW Discord.

Good to know

• It never acts for you unless you switch on auto-decline. Nothing is hidden, muted or reported.
• The list is a copy on your computer. It's saved with your addon settings and changes only when you import a new one.
• Think someone is listed unfairly? Players can read the ruling about them on the website and appeal it once. Overturned rulings come off the list for everyone at their next import.
• Please don't harass anyone on the list. Avoid them, and report anything new on the website.

What it stores

Only the imported list (character names, what they were listed for, end dates, case numbers and the public reason) and your option choices, in ForeverJusticeDB in your saved variables. Nothing leaves the game — addons can't make network requests.
