What's new
1.3.2
Full Sessions Overhaul and Visibility Pass
- Reworked Fishing Sessions into a clearer and more complete activity-tracking system.
- Session lifecycle state is now presented separately from selection state.
- Sessions now clearly distinguish:
- ready;
- running;
- actively Fishing;
- stopped.
- Session actions now reflect the current lifecycle with explicit:
- Start;
- Resume;
- Switch;
- Stop.
- The currently running Session remains visible even while browsing a different selected Session.
- Improved selected-Session summaries with additional tracked context including:
- casts;
- caught casts;
- fish/item totals;
- cumulative active Fishing time;
- recording runs;
- Fishing and Cooking rank context;
- first-start and latest-activity information;
- unique observed loot context.
- Kept Session statistics grounded in FishFry's existing Fishing-correlated records rather than introducing speculative drop-rate or abundance calculations.
Multi-zone Session tracking
- Added persistent multi-location history for Fishing Sessions.
- Sessions can now retain the ordered zone/subzone contexts observed while Fishing instead of only remembering the creation and latest locations.
- Added per-location cast tracking for newly observed Session locations.
- Session summaries now expose how many locations and zones were observed.
- Session hover details can show the full recorded location history.
- Older Sessions are migrated non-destructively using only the location information FishFry actually preserved.
- Historical intermediate zones are not invented for older Sessions where FishFry did not originally record them.
Fishing Record
- Added a durable Fishing Record surface to Journal.
- Fishing Record is intentionally separate from disposable Fishing Sessions.
- Added Account and Character record scopes.
- Added searchable recorded-item history with maintained context such as:
- caught/opened quantities;
- first observation;
- latest observation;
- latest known location;
- item reference information.
- Fishing Record item references use the established FishFry item interaction:
- hover for the item tooltip;
- click to open the item in Easy Wiki.
- Deleting a Fishing Session does not remove durable Fishing Record history.
- Improved Fishing Record card geometry and spacing to prevent overlapping metadata at larger FishFry window scales.
Fishing Session HUD control
- Added an optional Fishing Session button to the FishFry HUD.
- The Fishing Session button now occupies the default HUD utility position previously used by Guide.
- Guide is hidden by default but remains available through:
- Options;
- the FishFry center-button menu.
- Existing profiles receive a one-time default transition so:
- Fishing Session is shown;
- Guide is hidden.
- User choices remain persistent after that transition and both buttons can still be independently enabled or disabled.
- The Fishing Session HUD button uses clear state borders:
- red when no Session is running;
- green when a Session is running.
- Left-click performs the appropriate Session action:
- Start;
- Resume;
- Switch;
- Stop.
- Session Start/Stop actions now use FishFry's normal non-loot HUD floaters.
- Start feedback reports:
Started Session - <Session Name>
- Stop feedback reports:
Stopped Session - <Session Name> - <total active Fishing time>
- Right-click opens a compact Session flyout.
- The flyout supports:
- using the currently selected Session;
- creating and selecting a new stopped Session;
- opening the main FishFry window directly to Fishing Sessions.
- Selecting or creating a Session from the flyout does not automatically begin recording.
- On the Circle HUD, the Fishing Session flyout now opens upward.
Circle HUD layout
- Improved Circle HUD spacing when more than eight outer HUD buttons are visible.
- The normal eight-button Circle keeps its established geometry unchanged.
- When a ninth or additional button is enabled, the Circle radius expands only enough to preserve useful spacing between button faces.
- This prevents crowded or overlapping HUD buttons when Guide and Fishing Session are both shown.
- HUD scale changes continue to preserve the established Circle layout behavior at:
- 100%;
- 130%;
- 150%.
Session and Record navigation
- Added stronger navigation between FishFry's Session, Record, location, and knowledge surfaces.
- Fishing Sessions can now navigate directly to:
- Fishing Record;
- relevant Zone Info where maintained location data exists.
- Fishing Record can navigate back to Fishing Sessions.
- Maintained latest-location records can open the corresponding Zone Info context.
- Item references continue to open Easy Wiki where appropriate.
- Unknown or unmapped data continues to fail honestly rather than inventing relationships.
Fishing Snapshot
- Updated Fishing Snapshot to better reflect the explicit Fishing Session lifecycle.
- Snapshot now distinguishes:
- Fishing;
- running;
- stopped;
- ready Session states.
- A running Session takes priority over a merely selected stopped Session.
- Removed stale wording that implied simply Fishing would automatically create or start a Session.
- Snapshot remains a lightweight live-context surface and does not perform full Session or Journal rebuilds while hovered.
Session presentation cleanup
- Reworked Session cards to make better use of available space.
- Session/location names now receive substantially more usable width.
- Long Session names can use multiple controlled lines instead of being forced into extremely narrow truncated columns.
- Session state and tracked statistics are distributed more cleanly through the card.
- Improved presentation of:
- casts;
- fish;
- items;
- lifecycle state.
- Shortened the four selected-Session summary metric cards.
- Removed extra helper text from the bottom of those metric cards.
- Added hover tooltips with deeper tracked information for the summary metrics.
- Moved Fishing Record and Zone Info actions to the top-right of the full selected-Session card alongside the selected/running state header.
- Session Summary is now purely informational rather than also acting as the navigation-action container.
Tooltip consistency and readability
- Performed an addon-wide FishFry tooltip placement and readability pass.
- Player-visible FishFry-owned tooltips now spawn at the mouse cursor and follow the cursor while hovered.
- Removed mixed tooltip behavior that could anchor tooltips to:
- addon-frame edges;
- control edges;
- the upper-right corner of FishFry;
- other detached locations.
- Corrected cursor-position calculations for scaled FishFry tooltips.
- Standardized modern FishFry tooltip typography against the established Guide-coordinate and Options tooltip treatment.
- Tooltip text now follows the same menu-scale behavior used by FishFry's main window:
- Compact / 100%;
- Comfortable / 120%;
- Maximized.
- Preserved existing tooltip semantic colors and FishFry visual styling.
- Applied the tooltip pass across FishFry-owned surfaces including:
- Guide;
- Zone Info;
- Tackle;
- Cook Fish;
- Fishing Sessions;
- Easy Wiki;
- Journal;
- Fishing Record;
- About;
- Options;
- minimize/maximize controls;
- waypoint and coordinate controls;
- Associated Milestones;
- item references;
- HUD controls and flyouts;
- Fishing Snapshot.
Associated Milestones
- Improved Associated Milestones tooltip behavior on Guide and Zone Info.
- Associated Milestone tooltips now follow the mouse instead of appearing detached from the hovered card or addon surface.
- Added Associated Milestones to Cook Fish.
- Cook Fish milestone context uses FishFry's existing maintained Journal milestone system rather than creating a separate Cooking milestone implementation.
- Cook Fish can now surface relevant tracked Cooking progress for the currently selected recipe where maintained data exists.
Fishing Water Pool
- Removed continuous alpha pulsing from the authored Circle-HUD Fishing Water Pool.
- Water Pool layers now retain steady authored opacity while their currents continue moving independently.
- Increased runtime Water Pool visibility to better account for the transparency already authored into the source textures.
- Preserved the existing:
- Water Pool assets;
- semantic Water tint;
- blend modes;
- layer sizes;
- rotation speeds;
- motion architecture;
- Circle-HUD positioning.
- The Fishing Water Pool remains decorative and continues to sit behind authoritative HUD controls and the cast countdown.
HUD animation controls
- Added a separate HUD Button Animations option under Options -> HUD.
- Split authored HUD effects into two independently controlled groups.
- HUD animations now controls the larger authored HUD presentation:
- Fishing Water Pool;
- Cooking hearth;
- Cooking hearth embers.
- HUD Button Animations controls button-local effects:
- Fishing bubbles;
- Cooking smoke.
- Existing profiles inherit the new HUD Button Animations setting from their previous HUD-animation choice once during upgrade.
- After migration, both animation settings remain independent user preferences.
