Feed Pet: Forever

A simple feeding reminder for hunter pets in WoW: Forever.

When your pet is unhappy or content, a flashing Feed Pet icon appears. Click it once to feed suitable food from your bags. If you have nothing the pet can eat, a separate red NO FOOD indicator lets you know.

Features

• One-click feeding through a secure spell button.
• Food selection uses the client's own pet-food eligibility check and adapts to the current pet's diet.
• A tooltip names the selected food, and the icon shows the suitable food count.
• Both reminders stay hidden when the pet is happy, absent, dead or in combat, or when you are dead, in combat, on a flight path, mounted or in a vehicle.
• The reminder also waits while a feeding effect or Feed Pet cooldown is active.
• Move and resize the alert, with settings saved separately for each character.
• Draggable minimap button for easy access to settings and layout preview.
• Optional no-food warning and flashing. No required libraries or companion addons.

Controls

Feeding alert

• Left-click: feed the selected food.
• Right-click: open settings.
• Shift-drag: move the alert.
• Shift-mousewheel: resize it.

Minimap button

• Left-click: open or close settings.
• Right-click: toggle layout preview.
• Drag: move the button around the minimap.

Type /fpf to open settings. Use /fpf unlock to show a draggable preview when no alert is needed, and /fpf lock to finish. Feeding is disabled in preview mode.

Other useful commands: /fpf size 80, /fpf reset, /fpf minimap on, /fpf minimap off, and /fpf status.

Food selection

The addon checks carried bags only. It chooses the highest item-level food accepted by the current pet, then the smaller stack on a tie. It can use cooked, raw or buff food if the client accepts it; there is no food reservation list. It rechecks bag slots when clicked to handle sorting, moving or using the last item.

Installation and compatibility

Designed for WoW: Forever 1.60.1, interface 16001. This package is not tagged for Retail, Classic Era or other clients.

Extract the FeedPetForever folder into your Forever client's Interface/AddOns directory. Restart the game after first installation, enable Feed Pet: Forever in the AddOns list, and use /fpf or the minimap button. Updates can be loaded with /reload.

You need a hunter with the Feed Pet spell learned and a living, summoned hunter pet. Normal spell range and game restrictions still apply. Feeding always requires a real click; the addon does not feed automatically in the background.

Feedback and validation

Automated Lua behavior tests and checks against the matching Forever UI source passed, including combat guards and minimap controls. Native in-game feeding, visual layout and settings persistence still need live confirmation on the Forever client.
