Description
EzAcquaintances
Who was that orc, anyway?
Last Tuesday you spent an hour by the Crossroads fire with a grumpy tauren hunter who swore he'd seen a ghost wolf in the Barrens. Great scene. Today he waves at you outside Orgrimmar and you have no idea who he is. His name? Gone. Where you met? Gone. The ghost wolf? You're pretty sure there was a wolf.
Forever's Recent Allies list is handy for finding who you just played with. EzAcquaintances takes that idea further: a contact book for your character that keeps people for as long as you like, and remembers who they are to you. The addon notes who you met. You write who they are.
Mornhoof Grimtotem, "the Wolf-Seer" Friend · tags: storyteller, owes me gold First met: the Crossroads, the Barrens, 2026-11-02 (talked) Swears he saw a ghost wolf near the Stagnant Oasis. I didn't believe him. Bought me a drink anyway.
It notices who matters
Not every passerby, only people you actually spent time with. Someone lands in Recent faces when you:
- group with them, in a party or a raid,
- whisper back and forth,
- trade with them,
- duel them,
- get buffed by them (or thank them with Buff Me Please's thanks button),
- get an emote aimed at you (
/waveat you, or an/eline with your name in it), - talk in /say while you're targeting them.
For each person it keeps where and when you first met, how you met, when you last saw them, how many times you've crossed paths, and their race, class and level. Each way of meeting can be switched off on the options page.
Faces you never add to your book are quietly forgotten after two weeks. No clutter.
Your book, your words
Liked them? One click on Add to book, then write who they are to your character:
- Known as: "the Wolf-Seer", "Captain", "that elf from the inn".
- Relationship: stranger, friend, rival, sweetheart, employer...
- Tags: ally, rival, suspicious, owes me gold, healer, family... or make up your own.
- Note: everything else. Their backstory, their lies, what they promised you.
Search the book, filter by tag, and pick up a scene right where you left it.
They remember, even when you don't
- On their tooltip. Hover someone in your book and see your alias, relationship, tags and the start of your note.
- A badge by the target frame while you target them. Click it to open their page.
- Where's my group? Hover a party or raid member who's out of sight and see the zone they're in.
- Right-click a name in the book to target them when they're nearby.
- Whisper them from the book (the Whisper button, or middle-click their name). It only opens the whisper; you write and send it yourself.
One book per character
Your paladin and your rogue don't know the same people, so each character keeps their own book. Your characters still compare notes, though: the book tells you "Bob met them 2026-09-10 in Goldshire" when one of your other characters has crossed their path.
It never speaks for you
EzAcquaintances never sends anything to chat, and nobody else needs the addon. It just watches, remembers and waits for you to write it down.
- Opens however you like:
/acq, a key binding, the launcher icon above the chat, a minimap button you can drag around the edge, or Forever's addon drawer. - Works in combat, if you need to check who that rogue was mid-fight.
- WoW Forever and Classic Era, from one download. (In Classic Era, surnames don't exist, so it goes by first name.)

Better with friends: the EzAddons family
EzAcquaintances is the memory of a whole set of roleplay addons:
- EzReflex: your character answers emotes aimed at it. Tag someone rival or liar in your book and they get a glare instead of a bow; friends and family get a hug.
- EzAccent: type normally, speak in your race's accent. Right-click the book's Whisper button to open the EzAccent box already on a whisper to them.
- EzOOC: out-of-character lines in
(( )). Whisper someone OOC straight from their page. - EzTongues (coming soon): speak Orcish, Thalassian, Gutterspeak and more. Whisper in a tongue from the book too.
- Buff Me Please: asks the right player for the right buff. Thanking them logs the meeting.
Every one of them is free, stands on its own, and needs nothing from the people you meet.
