Description

Updated and compatible with 12.1 dye changes!

Track the housing dyes you need, tally what you already own across every character and your Warband Bank, and see the cheapest flower to make each one from.

Decorating your house and keep running out of the right dye? 🏠 Dyeing Down The House lets you write down what you need the second you notice it — straight from the decor you're coloring — then remembers it, totals what you already hold account-wide, and tells you the cheapest way to make the rest.

✨ Features

  • 🎨 Note dyes while you decorate: a Dye Needed box appears on the decor item's own dye panel, one row per dye slot. Type the number and get back to decorating.
  • 🏦 Warband-wide inventory: every character's bags and bank plus the Warband Bank, all totalled — so you don't re-farm a dye that's sitting on the alt you never play.
  • 🌿 The cheapest way to make it: Scan the Auction House (or read prices straight from TradeSkillMaster / Auctionator) and the Cost column shows what one dye costs: ten of its cheapest flower.
  • 🪄 Help at the dye station: a marker on any color you're short of, a "have 6 / need 10" line under the recipe, and a green check on the cheapest flower to make it from.
  • 🌈 Two tabs for two questions: By Color is the nine dyes you stock — have, makeable, still needed. By Dye is the 77 shade names, and that's where you type the goals. Five Alliance Blue and three Midnight Blue reads as eight Blue Housing Dye, worked out for you.
  • 🔎 Search by shade name: type obsidium and you land on Black with the matching shades pulled to the front — because the shade name is what you actually had in mind.
  • 📡 Reads the dyes from the game: colors, their dye items and the flowers each one takes all come from the client, so new colors need no update from me.
  • 🛠️ Customizable UI: resizable window, collapsible groups, configurable columns, adjustable opacity if you'd rather see the house through it.

Compatibility

  • World of Warcraft Retail: Curse of Ula'tek (12.1) and up. That patch rebuilt the dye system, so 2.0 won't read a 12.0.7 client correctly; stay on 1.3.0 until 12.1 goes live.
  • No dependencies required: works standalone.
  • Optional enhancements from DataStoreTradeSkillMaster, and Auctionator for offline characters' dyes and instant pricing.

Also known as "Dyeing Down The House." A housing dye manager, dye tracker, dye crafting helper, and warband dye inventory tool for World of Warcraft housing decoration.

Two things I dropped deliberately: "craft vs. buy pricing" and "profitable milling" — neither exists in 12.1. Dyes can't be listed or traded, and pigments (and the milling step) are gone entirely. I also cut "shopping-list manager" from the hook since goals now roll up per color family, which the tab line covers better.
