What's new

Curtain Call (Retail) Changelog

1.1.2

Brings Retail up to date with Curtain Call for WoW: Forever 1.3.3.

Fixes

  • Fixed some animation lines doing nothing, for example ROLE (anim sorry). The game knows some emotes by a different name than their slash command (/sorry is really "apologize"). Curtain Call now reads the game's own list of emote commands, so any emote you can type in chat works in a script.
  • If an animation line names an emote the game doesn't have (usually a typo), you now get a message in chat instead of nothing happening.
  • Added a built-in backup list of alternate emote commands (such as /sorry, /lol, /yes, /lie and /question), used if the game's own list can't be read.
  • Fixed (anim yes) and (anim question) asking the game for emotes that don't exist. They now perform the nod and the questioning "talk" emotes.

1.1.1

Brings Retail up to date with Curtain Call for WoW: Forever 1.3.2.

Fixes

  • Stage directions now work in soapbox acts. Before, they were silently skipped.
  • A direction is shown on the cue card and Stage page before the line written after it. With [wait N], your cue button waits that many seconds before the line can be spoken, with a countdown. With [hold], the first press of your cue button means "ready" and the next press speaks the line.
  • In shuffled soapboxes, a direction stays with the line written after it.
  • Jumping to a line by hand shows its direction but skips the wait.

1.1.0

Brings Retail up to date with Curtain Call for WoW: Forever 1.3.1.

New

  • Choose each role's color. Click the colored bar beside a role on the Cast page and pick from 14 colors, choose "Custom color..." to use the game's color picker, or "Automatic" to go back to the default.
  • The color is used everywhere the role appears: Cast page, cue card, prompter, Stage page and chat messages.
  • Role colors are saved with the production and sent to your cast with the script and casting, so everyone sees the same colors.
  • Problems listed under CHECK on the Script page can now be clicked. Clicking one jumps straight to that line in the editor and selects it, ready to fix.

Fixes

  • Fixed script offers and other private addon messages sometimes not arriving when whispering a player had already failed more than 10 minutes earlier. They're now resent through your group or guild as intended.
  • Duplicating a production now keeps its role colors.

1.0.2

Brings Retail up to date with Curtain Call for WoW: Forever 1.2.2.

Fixes

  • Script re-sending now uses the same one-extra-copy fix as Forever 1.2.2: a player who never confirms gets exactly one extra copy and is then marked "no reply" in the Transfers window. Retail already had this fixed in 1.0.0; this brings both versions in line.

1.0.1

Brings Retail up to date with Curtain Call for WoW: Forever 1.2.1.

New

  • Stage managers: add as many as you need on the Cast page with "+ Add stage manager" (or right-click a player in the users list). Any stage manager can go back, jump to a line, change scenes and end the show, so the show carries on if one disconnects.
  • Stage managers are saved with the production and sent along with the script and casting.
  • A player who reloads or reconnects mid-show is brought back in by any stage manager, even if the one who started the show has left.
  • Outdated version warnings: players on an older Curtain Call are marked in yellow on the Cast page, in the Stage page's cast list and in the Transfers window. The stage manager gets a warning listing them when a show starts and after a ready check.
  • If someone in your group or guild has a newer Curtain Call than you, you get a message asking you to update.

Fixes

  • "Anyone may press Next" now applies to the whole cast. The setting of whoever starts the show is sent to every actor, and changing it mid-show updates everyone.
  • With it off, actors' Next buttons are disabled, and Next presses from players who aren't stage managers are ignored. Actors still speak their own lines with their cue button as normal.

Changes

  • The Stage page shows "Next: stage managers only" when that's in effect.
  • To add a stage manager from another realm, type their name with the realm (for example Arthas-Area52).
  • "Only the stage manager can go back / jump" messages now say "only stage managers", since a show can have several.

1.0.0

First Retail release

  • Curtain Call comes to Retail (Midnight), with every feature from the WoW: Forever version (Forever 1.1.4).
  • Script editor with a plain-text format, insert buttons and live error checking.
  • One-button delivery of lines in /say, /yell, /me, racial languages and character animations, via the cue card, a keybind or the CC Speak macro.
  • Automatic cue tracking using nearby chat and addon sync between actors.
  • Prompter window showing surrounding lines and who speaks next.
  • Casting and script sharing to a player, your cast, your group or your guild.
  • Transfers window with live progress bars and confirmation of who has received each script.
  • Stage manager tools: next and back, jump to any line, scene changes, ready checks, "Places" countdowns and private notes to actors.
  • Soapbox mode for solo acts, with sequential or shuffled lines.
  • Rehearsal mode, a chat tab just for Curtain Call, a minimap button, starter templates, slash commands and keybinds.

Made for Retail

  • Names include the realm. To cast or send a script to someone on another realm, type their name with the realm (for example Arthas-Area52). Players from other realms show their realm next to their name, and blocking a player blocks that character on that realm only.
  • The Help page has an "On retail" section covering realms, cross-faction groups and instances.

Fixes over Forever 1.1.4

  • A player who never confirms a script gets exactly one more copy, then shows "no reply" (it could be re-sent endlessly before).
  • A send the game refuses to start is marked failed instead of staying "in progress" forever.
  • Players whose first confirmation got lost now confirm the re-sent copy.
  • The Transfers window updates every entry for a player once they confirm.
  • When a script goes to the whole party or raid, only the players who asked for it see the "Receiving..." bar and messages.
  • A "Receiving..." bar disappears by itself if the transfer stops.
