Clean, readable nameplates for World of Warcraft: Midnight (12.1), inspired by the spirit of TidyPlates (clear information, threat colors, name-only mode, spotlight) with its own look: rounded capsule bars with subtle effects.
Requires ClearCore (installed automatically by the CurseForge app). Open the settings with /cp. Disable other nameplate addons (Platynator, Plater, Threat Plates) or both will draw at once.
Features
- 4 bar models and 4 themes (Glass capsule, Neon, Graphite, Slim), with glow, glass gloss, edge spark, damage trail, target pulse and fade-in.
- Color by threat (tank: green / orange / red / another tank; DPS/healer: red when you have aggro), by reaction, by health, class color on players, execute range and tapped units in gray.
- Headline mode: show the bar only on active units (combat, threat, marked or casting) and just the name on the rest. Always a bar on elites, players, marked units, target and mouseover.
- Spotlight and filters: opacity and scale by target, focus, mouseover, cast and raid mark; lists of names to highlight or fade.
- Bosses and lieutenants with a thicker gold/silver edge, skull or star, larger bar and name.
- Cast bars with a round spell icon, color by state (your interrupt ready, important spell, uninterruptible with a shield, channel), an interrupt-ready mark, a red border when the cast targets you, and who interrupted.
- Auras (debuffs, important / stealable / enrage buffs and crowd control) with the dispel-type ring, time and stacks.
- Class resource (combo points, holy power, shards, runes, chi, arcane charges, essence) under the target's bar.
- Absorb shields and execute marker, raid marker, elite / rare icon.
- Color editor, profiles with automatic switching per specialization, export / import.
- English and Spanish.
Made for Midnight's secret values
Health, names, cast data and auras are secret values in combat and instances. ClearPlates never does arithmetic on them: it hands them to the engine (status bars, curves, filters) so everything keeps working with the new restrictions.
Light on any PC
- Performance mode: Automatic (drops to low consumption when FPS stay at 25 or below and comes back above 45), Normal or Low consumption. Low mode refreshes plates less often, turns off the damage trail and pulse, and keeps a smaller pool.
- Plates are built gradually at startup, auras are configured in small steps, and events are registered per unit.
- Typical use: about 0.05 to 0.8 % of one core, 1.5 to 3 MB of memory, with 28 plates on screen measured at 0.6 %.
- No network use at all. It works the same on a slow or unstable connection.
- Measure it yourself:
/cp perf,/cp perf watch 30,/cp perf mode auto|normal|low.
Commands
/cp opens the options · /cp theme <capsule|neon|graphite|slim> · /cp colors · /cp profile save|load|delete|list|spec · /cp export / /cp import · /cp spot and /cp filter (name lists) · /cp set <key> <value> · /cp reset · /cp perf · /cp errors.
Known limits
Blizzard makes some data secret: names cannot be changed, scale by health and color by NPC ID are not possible, and name lists only work outside instances. The personal resource bar is left to Blizzard's interface.
