BV Addon Suite - Map

Everything the world map is missing: coordinates, a map that fades while you walk, its own size and position, waypoints with an arrow and a travel path, a terrain map, unexplored areas, a map search and a zone banner. Built to work next to TomTom, Leatrix Maps and your UI addons instead of fighting them.

Requires: BV Addon Suite - Core

Off by default. Turn it on with /bv map on.

Features

Coordinates

• A slim strip on the map with your position and the position under the cursor, with 0 to 2 decimal places

Fade while moving

• The open map fades to the opacity you choose while you walk and comes back when you stop
• Fade everything, only the map (your quest log beside it stays) or only the quest log
• Full opacity while the mouse is over the map

Map window

• Scale the map from 50 to 150 %, drag it by its title bar, double-click to reset
• The map reopens on the same zoom and section while you are in the same zone

Waypoints

• /way 45.2 67.8 Title, /way #1418 45 67, /way Badlands 45 67, /way here, /way next, /way list, /way clear
• Uses Blizzard's own waypoint, plus an arrow with distance and arrival time
• A queue: when you arrive, the next waypoint follows
• A waypoint list: rename, reorder, activate, delete, save as named sets
• Import /way lines as they appear in Wowhead comments, export your list as /way lines
• A waypoint to your corpse while you run as a ghost
• With BV Addon Suite - Quest: waypoint to a quest objective from the quest log and the tracker

Travel path

• Your waypoint queue as numbered pins on the world map and the minimap, with lines and arrows and a line from you to the next target
• Alt+click on the map adds a waypoint; left-click a pin to make it next, right-click to remove it, drag to move it
• Share a path with your group, your guild or one player; they see a preview first
• Colours and opacity of pins and lines are settings; one button removes all waypoints

Terrain map and unexplored areas

• Zone maps as terrain from the game's own minimap tiles, with readable area names at every zoom
• Areas you have not explored yet show as if explored
• Where am I opens the map of your zone
• Flight masters of the other faction are hidden

Map search

• A magnifier on the map finds zones, points of interest, flight points and your quests; click to open the map there, right-click for a waypoint

Zone banner

• A new zone appears on Core's notification stage in its PvP colour, with its PvP status and your quests there
• New areas, and "Discovered" with the exploration XP instead of Blizzard's line

Plays well with others

• TomTom loaded: /way stays TomTom's, waypoints go to TomTom, its arrow and corpse marker stay in charge
• Another addon already moves, scales, labels or reveals the map (for example Leatrix Maps or your UI package): that part stays with it, the settings say so and are greyed out, and "Use ours anyway" takes it back
• Blizzard's own map fade is respected

Style

Follows the suite's in-game style (BV, WoW, Clean or Clean matching your UI) or uses its own.
