Description
Buff Me Please
Ask nicely. Or not. It depends who you are.
How many buffs have you received from a stranger who ran past without a word? How many times did you stand next to a mage, wanting Arcane Intellect, and say nothing because typing "int pls" felt sad?
Buff Me Please turns that moment into a little bit of roleplay. Target a friendly player whose class can buff you, click the icon, and your character asks them for it out loud, in /say, in their own voice. Thank them with a second click. That's it.
The point is to start conversations with strangers. A funny line in /say gets a laugh, a reply, sometimes an emote back, and every so often a new friend who still remembers "the timid gnome who apologised for existing before asking for Fortitude".
Um, Bob Smith? Sorry to bother you... could I maybe have Arcane Intellect? Only if it's no trouble. (timid)
Bob Smith, what's your rate for a Blessing of Kings? I'm good for it. (mercenary)
Bob Smith! You there. Power Word: Fortitude, on me. I put it to good use. Bloody use. (bold orc)
Personalities
Every character picks how they ask, and every ask, refresh and thank-you fits that personality:
Bold, Cheerful, Wise, Gruff, Roguish, Mystic, Scholarly, Timid, Noble, Charming, Devout, Mercenary, or A bit of everything.
That's 552 hand-written lines, each one also written in three accents. If you use Campfire Tales Forever, your character's personality there is picked up on first login.
Change it per character in Esc > Options > AddOns > Buff Me Please (with a Preview button so you can hear it first), by right-clicking the icon, or with /buffme persona <name>.
Accents
Orcs, trolls and dwarves don't talk like everyone else, so every line comes in an orc, troll and dwarf version. Same personality, same joke, said their way:
Bob Smith, what be ya rate for some Blessing of Kings? Me good for it, mon. (mercenary troll)
Um, Bob Smith? Sorry tae bother ye... could I maybe have Arcane Intellect? Only if it's nae trouble, lad. (timid dwarf)
Your race picks the accent by default, but any character can choose another one or none at all. A human raised in Ironforge can sound like a dwarf; an orc can speak the common tongue perfectly well, thank you.
What you ask for
The addon only asks for what the target can actually give you, and only what you need:
| Their class | You ask for |
|---|---|
| Paladin | Blessing of Kings, then Might (warriors and rogues) or Wisdom (everyone else) |
| Druid | Mark of the Wild |
| Priest | Power Word: Fortitude, then Divine Spirit if you use mana |
| Mage | Arcane Intellect, if you use mana |
No asking for a buff you already have, unless it's about to wear off. No asking a level 12 priest for Divine Spirit. In WoW Forever, buffs blocked by your camp (First Aid Kit, Mana Well, Lodestone and the rest) count as already given.
Features
- Icon next to the target frame, shown only when your target has something for you. A check mark means you have it all; a gold border means a buff is fading and the click asks for a refresh.
- Thank-you button right beside it, so the stranger who buffed you gets a proper thanks instead of silence.
- Say or whisper.
/sayby default for maximum audience. Shy? Switch to whispering your target with/buffme whisper. - Key bindings for asking and thanking, which also work with the interface hidden.
- Plays well with EzBlessings and EzMinion. On a paladin, the icon sits under the EzBlessings button. On a warlock with EzMinion, Buff Me Please steps aside and lets your minions do the demanding.
- WoW Forever and Classic Era.

Suggest a personality!
Twelve personalities is a start, not the end. Is your character a pirate? A drunk? A conspiracy theorist who thinks the Arcane Intellect is how Dalaran reads your mind? A goblin who files every buff as a loan?
Tell us in the comments or on GitHub. Give the personality a name, a sentence about how they talk, and a couple of example lines if you have them. The best ones go into the next update, accents included.
Lines you find awkward, typos, or a joke that falls flat in an accent are welcome too.
