Description

⚡ BiquetteShamEnhance

Twist. Sync. Shock. Except now you can actually see what you're doing.

Enhancement Shaman in TBC is four timers running at once and none of them on your screen. Windfury Totem is quietly feeding your melees a buff you can't see. Your off hand is drifting out of sync and eating a second Flurry charge every time. Your imbue fell off nine seconds ago. Earth Totem expired somewhere around the second pull.

This addon puts those four things in one small window, and answers the only questions that matter mid-fight: should I twist right now, are my swings synced, and what's about to run out.

Built and tuned on Spineshatter EU, on a real Enhancement Shaman, over three months of playing and measuring rather than guessing.

🌪️ A twist assistant that shows the right number

Every other tool shows you the totem's remaining duration. That number is useless for twisting.

What you actually need is the enchant capital already sitting on your melees' weapons — because that's what decides whether you can afford to swap to Grace of Air right now.

  • Windfury Totem pulses every 5 seconds and lays a 10 second buff on your party's weapons. The HUD tracks that buff, not the totem. You see what your group is really carrying.
  • Four states, readable in three seconds — WAIT, ALMOST, TWIST NOW, and the verdict once you've swapped.
  • Self-calibrating. The buff duration is measured live, on your own client, the first time you drop Windfury with an un-imbued weapon. No hardcoded number that silently goes stale two patches from now.
  • It won't nag you when twisting is pointless. No melee in your party of five? It says so and shuts up. And it works out who's melee from swings actually landed in the combat log, not from class or talents — so a melee hunter counts, and a mage doesn't.

🗡️ Swing syncing you can actually watch happen

If your two swings land within 0.5 seconds of each other, Flurry consumes one charge instead of two. That's most of your Flurry uptime, which is 30% attack speed. Syncing is not a nicety, it's a large chunk of your damage.

The problem is that syncing blind is miserable. So:

  • Two segments, one per weapon. A thin marker travels left to right showing exactly where each swing stands. No bars to interpret, just two positions to compare.
  • A white centre mark — your decision point. Before it, the resync macro does nothing at all. After it, pressing pushes your off hand back. Stop guessing when to press.
  • It updates the instant you press the macro, without waiting for the next swing to land. You literally watch the off hand slide backwards while you sync. Spam the macro and watch it walk into place.
  • A sync box that tells you where you stand: green when your swings are inside the window and your main hand leads (what you want, it favours main hand Windfury procs), yellow when you're synced but the off hand leads or you're perfectly aligned, red when you're outside the window entirely.

The macro, copy it as is:

/cleartarget
/targetlasttarget
/startattack
/run BSE_Probe()

🔮 Totems and imbues, without the guessing

  • An imbue indicator per weapon, right next to its swing segment. Green when it's on, red when it's gone. The weapon label turns the same colour, so colour is never the only thing carrying the message.
  • Fire, earth and water totems with time remaining and an adjustable warning threshold. Earth gets the prominent slot, because it's the one you actually watch.
  • An imbue alert that respects you. It never fires for something you can't fix. Levelling and haven't learned an imbue yet? Silence. It's a reminder, not an alarm clock.

🎛️ Fits in, gets out of the way

  • Minimap icon with a full menu. Everything the slash commands do is one click away, because nobody memorises slash commands.
  • Move it, lock it, scale it. The HUD goes where you want and stays there.
  • A copyable log window and a one-pass diagnostic, so reporting a problem takes ten seconds instead of a paragraph of prose.
  • Completely dormant outside Enhancement. Respec to Resto for a raid night and it simply isn't there.

Commands:

  • /bse — command list
  • /bse diag — full diagnostic into the log window, copyable
  • /bse macro — print the macros
  • /bse config — options

🌍 Languages

Full English and French. Other clients fall back to English.

Totem detection goes through spell IDs rather than translated names, so the twist assistant works correctly on a German, Spanish or Russian client even without a translation for that language.

Translations are very welcome — the locale file is a plain table of 154 lines and no code.

🐛 Something not right?

The internal diagnostic output is in French, I haven't translated it and I'd rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise.

It doesn't matter: run /bse diag, copy the log window, and send it to biquettepapy@gmail.com, or whisper me in game. That dump contains everything I need — client build, talents, weapons, imbues, totem slots, engine state. It's far and away the fastest route to a fix.

🙏 Credits

This addon owes a real debt to Dora's TBC Enhancement Shaman Suite, the reference WeakAuras suite for Enhancement Shaman.

Playing with that suite is how I understood swing syncing and staggering in the first place, and its swing engine was my model. The resync behaviour here deliberately reproduces that logic — after using it I found nothing clearer, and a player moving between the two shouldn't have to relearn their reflexes.

BiquetteShamEnhance is an independent addon, written from scratch, and not a port of that suite. But the debt is real and it belongs in writing rather than in a footnote.

The suite and its interactive sync trainer are worth your time even if you use this addon: https://enhanceshaman.com/guide/sync-stagger

Thanks also to the WoW Classic community for Ace3, LibDataBroker and LibDBIcon.

Drop your totems. Twist clean. Keep your swings honest.
