BetterQuestList

BetterQuestList makes the default WoW Objective Tracker easier to use without turning it into a completely different addon.

You keep the familiar Blizzard look and behavior, but gain proper scrolling, category ordering, a cleaner layout, and plenty of visual options in Edit Mode. It works with regular quests, campaigns, World Quests, Delves, scenarios, raids, achievements, profession recipes, and other tracked activities.

The goal is simple: keep everything useful about Blizzard's tracker, remove the annoying parts, and give you more control over how it looks.

Still a work in progress: the addon is actively developed. WoW has many special trackers, widgets, and protected combat states, so an unusual event or another UI addon may occasionally cause a visual issue. Reports and suggestions are always welcome.

What you can do

• Put tracker categories in the order you prefer.
• Collapse individual categories and keep your layout between sessions.
• Rename category headings or hide individual headers without hiding their contents.
• Scroll long objective lists with the mouse wheel.
• Move and resize the tracker through WoW Edit Mode.
• Choose fonts and text size from the fonts available in your UI setup.
• Change quest colors for active, completed, and low-level quests.
• Show quest levels and the location of regular quests.
• Adjust quest icons, titles, locations, objectives, spacing, and progress bars.
• Keep Blizzard-style quest icons, quest item buttons, timers, group finder buttons, menus, and scenario visuals.
• Use a separate movable button for active quest items and scenario actions.
• See useful Delve information such as the remaining empowered enemy groups when available.
• Search Auctionator for reagents required by your tracked profession recipes.
• During Mythic+ and raids, hide or collapse unrelated categories while keeping Mythic+/scenario objectives and damage meters available.
• Hide the entire tracker automatically during Mythic+ and raids if you prefer a completely clean view.

Integrations available now

• EnhanceQoL Damage Meter: embed up to five independently ordered windows in the tracker.
• MythicPlusTimer and EnhanceQoL Mythic+ Timer: choose your installed timer and place it directly inside your category order. Its height and X/Y position can be adjusted in Edit Mode.
• Auctionator: search for the reagents needed by all tracked recipes while the auction house is open.

Roadmap

These are the main areas planned for upcoming updates:

• Integration with more popular Mythic+ timer addons.
• Integration with Details! and other damage or combat meters.
• Better support for navigation and waypoint addons such as TomTom.
• More quality-of-life options for World Quests and newly appearing objectives.
• More integrations requested by the community.
• Ongoing fixes for Delves, scenarios, combat restrictions, and compatibility with other UI addons.

The roadmap is not a fixed release order. Features may move around depending on game updates, API restrictions, and feedback.

Getting started

Open the addon settings with:

/bql

Use WoW Edit Mode to move the tracker and customize its appearance. The standard AddOns settings contain category order and general behavior options.

Other useful commands:

• /bql reset — restore the default category order.
• /bql scroll — enable or disable mouse-wheel scrolling.
• /bql debug — open a diagnostic report that can be copied into a bug report.

Feedback and bug reports

Found something strange? Run /bql debug, copy the report with Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C, and include it with a short description of what happened.

It also helps to mention:

• The dungeon, Delve, event, or activity where the problem appeared.
• What you expected to see.
• Any addons you use for the Objective Tracker, Mythic+ timers, damage meters, navigation, or nearby UI elements.

Even small reports help make the addon better.
