What's new
BetterMacroDesigner 0.9.0 - Weapon Upgrades and Group Weapon Setup
Upgrade your leveling weapons without editing every macro individually.
New: Upgrade Weapons
- Open Upgrade Weapons from the main window, Items & Weapons, or /bm weapons.
- Choose an old weapon from your saved macros, then select its replacement from inventory or enter an item name, link, or ID.
- Review the matching macros and uncheck any you want to keep unchanged.
- Update all checked macros together. Existing action-bar macro buttons continue using the updated macros, so you do not need to place them on your bars again.
- Matches the specific item and hand. Upgrade your two-hander, one-hander, or shield separately while preserving other equipment and spell settings.
- Uses character macros by default, with an option to include account-wide macros.
New: Group Weapon Setup
- Quick Setup now includes Weapons for Checked Spells.
- Choose a weapon setup once and apply it to a whole group of spells.
- Set your regular attacks to equip your two-hander, then configure Shield Bash separately with a one-hander and shield.
- Applying group weapons replaces both hand actions for the checked spells, preserving their ranks, targeting, item uses, and other options.
- Closing the weapon editor without applying leaves the group unchanged.
Reliability
- Checks macro lengths, equipment compatibility when known, and changed macros before applying upgrades. Updates are unavailable during combat.
- Stops if a save fails and lets you review the remaining changes again.
- Preserves unrelated unsaved edits in the current Builder draft.
Notes
- Bulk upgrades include macros that can reopen in Builder. Custom equipment macros in Edit Text may need manual updates.
- Weapon swaps can trigger a cooldown; casting may require another press.
- 156 automated tests pass. Live Forever UI and equipment behavior still need in-game verification.
