What's new

1.19.0

  • Each quest says what kind it is. A dungeon, raid, PvP or elite quest now carries that word beside its title in the quest log's list, in its details and in the objective tracker, read from the game the way Forever's own quest log reads it. Where the game suggests a party, its size is there too ("Elite 3", "Group 3"). The word has a place of its own to the right of the title, so a long quest name is cut short before it instead of taking it along; until now Forever showed only a bare party size ("[3]") inside the title, where a long name hid it. The Quest Browser, the zone list and quest chains name the kind as well, wherever the game can tell them. The tracker's can be switched off: Objective Tracker > Display > "Show each quest's kind on its row".
  • Three waypoint helpers start on. For a new install, these three are now switched on: Map & Waypoints > Waypoints > "Save a quest's objective as a waypoint when you accept or track it", Map & Waypoints > Waypoint Arrow > "Show time to arrive", and Objective Tracker > Display > "Right-click a quest to point the arrow at it". They were off, so most players never found them. If you already use Belphie's Quest Log, your settings stay as you left them, and you can switch these on in the same places. Reset Section now puts them back on.
  • The Waypoints list's fold tab matches the rest of our addons. The small arrow tab that folds the list away at the edge of the screen was a plain flat button; it is now the same bordered tab that Foreverbound's folded bars have. A click still folds the list and opens it.

Supported versions

All future development targets WoW: Forever.

TBC Anniversary is no longer a development target and will receive no further work. Some TBC compatibility still exists in the code and will most likely keep working, but it is not tested, not maintained, and will be dropped the next time a file needs reworking rather than preserved deliberately.

Questie is optional, and BQL behaves the same with or without it. BQL carries its own copy of the quest database and keeps it to itself, so the two can be installed side by side. Nothing requires Questie.
