Belphie's Quest Log v1.18.0
What's new
1.18.0
- A mark on quests that are new to Forever. A quest that vanilla did not have gets a small teal mark after its title in the quest log, in its details and in the objective tracker, so you can tell Forever's own quests from the ones you may remember. It is off by default; the switch is Quest List > Display > "Mark Quests That Are New to Forever". Belphie's Dialogue shows the same mark in its quest windows.
- Every setting is in the same kind of window as the rest of our addons. All 23 pages of
/bql confignow use the shared settings rows (the same switches, sliders, colour swatches and drop-downs as Belphie's Dialogue, Satchel and Forgemaster), so they look and behave alike, and the window's code shrank by half. The pages, their settings and each page's Reset Section are the same. What differs: a sort order and the Theme are drop-downs instead of rows of buttons; the Waypoint Arrow page lists the colours of both colour modes instead of showing only the mode in use (its shape buttons are kept); Zone Completion's per-zone Shown/Hidden buttons are switches (on is shown); and NPC Tooltips no longer greys its two sub-switches while enrichment is off, a note says they work only while it is on. Needs BLib 1.10.0. - A quest done by using its item keeps the item's button. Call of Earth ("find Spirit Rock and drink the Earth Sapta") counts as complete the moment you hold the Sapta, and the tracker drops a complete quest's item button, so it vanished just when you needed it. A quest with no counted objective now keeps the button the game names for it for as long as it is in your log.
- A quest item the game had not described yet gets its button. The tracker's quest item buttons look in your bags, and an item whose data the game had not sent yet (so its use was unknown) was left out until the bags changed again. Such an item is now asked for once and the tracker looks again when its data arrives; and for a quest BQL's data names an item for, the button no longer waits to know the item's use.
- The tracker, XP bar, arrow and Waypoints list move in BLib's shared edit mode.
/move(or/blib move) now lays a handle over each of them with the other addons' pieces: drag to place, the arrow keys nudge, right-click a handle to put that one back. The objective tracker stays up while it is open even with no quests, and the waypoint arrow shows a made-up one so it can be placed (both go again when you lock). The XP bar has a handle only while it floats, and the Waypoints list only while it is a window of its own: dropped against the left or right edge of the screen it docks there, as when you drag it yourself. While/moveis open the list sits under its handle, so it moves only by the handle, and a list folded away to a screen edge folds out so it can be moved; it folds away again when you lock, unless you dragged it off the edge. Where each one sits is saved where it always was, so nothing moves on update, and dragging each by hand still works as before. A quest's item button beside the tracker now travels with the tracker while you drag it, in/moveand in the tracker's own drag (it used to vanish, or stay behind, until you let go). Needs BLib 1.10.0; with an older BLib, nothing changes. - A quest's item button stays with the tracker while you drag it. The buttons were laid out again only when the tracker was redrawn, so dragging the tracker left them behind where it had been until the next update. They now follow it as it moves.
- Tracking a quest saves its place too. "Save a quest's objective as a waypoint when you accept it" acted only at the moment you took a quest, so quests already in your log when you switched it on never reached the Waypoints list. The setting now reads "when you accept or track it": with it on, tracking a quest that has no saved place saves one, as accepting it would have. A quest that already has a saved place keeps it, and a place you delete by hand stays deleted until you track the quest again. To catch up a full log, untrack your quests and track them again.
- Right-click a quest in the tracker to point the arrow at it. A new setting, off by default (Objective Tracker > Display > Clicking: "Right-click a quest to point the arrow at it"). With it on, a right-click on a quest in the objective tracker moves the waypoint arrow to that quest's next place: where its objective is, or where to hand it in once it is ready, and a pin for it if it had none. A quest BQL knows no place for leaves the arrow where it was and says so in one line in chat; if you have saved a place for that quest, the arrow goes there instead. A left click still opens the quest log on the quest, and with the setting off a right-click does nothing, as before. The row's tooltip says so while it is on.
Found a bug? Please tell us
Belphie's Quest Log gains more from bug reports than any of our other addons. It touches every quest, NPC and zone in the game, Forever runs vanilla's quests on a modern client, and the quest data BQL bundles was built for a different version of the game. So a quest giver in the wrong place, a pin pointing at nothing or an objective read wrongly can turn up in any corner of the world, and one tester can only walk a handful of zones. You are playing all of them.
If something looks wrong, please post it in #addon-support on our Discord, tagged BQL: https://discord.gg/jGBBJmuemK. The quest's name and the zone are usually all it takes, plus the error text if one appeared.
