This is a simple addon that shows you how much profit you could make if you successfully flip an item on the Commodity Exchange, and the amount of that item to buy to order as many as possible to get the most out of your 5 silver fee.
The following are displayed:
- Profit amount. This is the monetary amount you will make per-item assuming a 2% buy order fee and a 12% sell order fee.
- Profit percent. This is basically the amount of silver you will profit by per gold you spend. If you spend 1g, then a 30% profit will return 1g30s.
- Fee efficient purchasing amount. If you make a buy order, you will have to pay an additional fee of either 5 silver or 2%, whichever is higher. The fee efficient amount is the highest amount you can buy while still having the fee be only 5 silver (this turns out to be when you spend 2g50s because math). If you order below this amount, part of that fee is going to waste.
Profit Calculator - New in 1.2:
- Open with /profit
- Input quantity and prices. It will tell you fees, total profit, profit percent, and fee-efficient amount.
- Open from the CX with the blue "+" button. Values are automatically put in for you.
Hide Non-Profitable Items - New in 1.3
- Red X button near search bar to hide all results that are not profitable.
- Togglable
Disclaimer: The data shown by this addon is only useful if you use common sense too. A 3000% profit probably wont work out.
Known issues:
- With several Commodity Exchange addons, the CX window seems to take a second or two to load.
Potential ToDo:
- Give me feedback on whether or not to have "Profit: None" and "Profit: Unsure" show or just not have that section show at all when there is no profit or missing data.
- I'm considering having the text turn yellow when the profit percent is in a user-defined range. Would this be useful?
