This Addon lets you create multiple loadouts for your Limited Ability Bar. In Wildstar you only have 8 abilities at a time. While you get a few action sets (Specs) by max level (1st at level 20), sometimes you don't necessarily need to switch, or aren't high enough to have one. Fighting a tough single NPC, Load your single target DPS Loadout, Want a loadout with a little extra CC? AoE DPS? You can create a profile for those different situations.
The loadout registers your Ability Bar, Tier Upgrades, Action Set and Stance you are in if you're a class with stances. Selecting the loadout will set all of those things.
To use the addon you simply click the "ML" button on the upper left corner of your screen by default but all windows can be moved and placed where you like by clicking the outer edge of the button.
Loadouts are only registered when the ML window is shown.
Once the window is open, clicking on the '+' on the bottom right of the frame will bring up your action set builder that you'll need to create a new loadout. Setup your Action Set like you would without the addon. Once you click 'Use Set', the addon will ask you to name it and then take that ability profile and store it as a Loadout along with the stance and spec you're currently in. To make a 2nd, 3rd, or 20th loadout, you just do the same thing. Pretty simple.
To change loadouts, you simply click on the loadout you want and your ability bar and associated upgrades, stance and spec will load. Click the left and right arrows to goto your different specs.
To Edit a loadout you must be in the loadout you wish to edit and then click the edit button, the abilities window will pop up and you make your changes as you see fit.
Command line switches:
/ml Brings up the Window (Exactly like the button)
/mlreset Resets the settings.
New in 1.1
- Completely rewrote the Capture and Switching component of the addon.
- It now clears out any possible stray ability points when changing stances
- No more perfect setup required. It now reads the LAS and ability tier upgrades after you commit to your set, making modifying and adding new loadouts really easy, you no longer have to clear all your abilities before adding a new loadout..
New in 1.12
- Now detects if you're in combat, won't attempt to switch loadouts if you are.
- Loadouts can now only be added or edited when click the appropriate button on the ML window, no more accidental loadout creates.
- Edit mode has a "Keep Name" button added so you don't have to constantly retype the name of the loadout each time you modify it.
New in 1.14
- Added slash commands for macros /ml1 /ml2 /ml3 & /ml4 for each action set and takes the loadout number as an argument. (Example: Action Set 2, Loadout 1 would be '/ml2 1') Loadouts are ordered top to bottom.
- Added a button on the ML list to auto create a macro (due to the bug within the API you will have to edit the macro for the game to remember it upon login. You should probably do this anyway to change the icon.)
Getting an error when I try to switch from one loadout to another, where the first is in one action set, and the second is in the second action set ( Level 28 Medic) ...

It says, eleven times, in the chat window, "[Debug] An error has occurred in Addon: Max_Loadouts."
EDIT: Think I figured it out. My second action set has no ability in slot 1. I'm a returning player, haven't logged into this character since I left. The lua code probably expects all button slots to have an ability.
EDIT2: Yep, that was it. Wasn't enough that I added an action to the empty button slot, I had to delete the Max Loadout for that action set, and recreate it.
Great work on this plugin :) One question though. Would it be possible to add keybindings for different loadouts? To maybe switch from dmg to heal on the fly outside of combat?
I would like to bump this. I would also like to know if the loadouts could be keybound.
This is something I've been meaning to look into once time permits. My RL got insanely busy lately but i'll see what I can do. It's been a good month or so since I looked but I think I was having trouble with the command line switches, they don't take arguments, at least as far as I can tell.
Actually I got this working, should be in 1.14 pending curse approval.
Thanks for the update! Just tested it and it works like a charm :)
Oh thank you for this!
One thing, on my screen the text of the name of the skillset (the top one especially) is not very visible, very small and blurry. Since it's an out of combat kind of stuff anyways, could you make the window a big bigger please? or an option for it? It's just a bit hard to read at the moment. Thanks.
Can you maybe add a command /ml unlock or /ml move and have it highlight the box and make the whole box daggable. I have been trying to move it repeatedly and i just can't.... I click-drag left, right, outter, inner... everything. As it's in the far upper left corner I can't get to the upper left portion to try that as I have 2 monitors.
Really nice addon. I hope you keep working on it!
Mm..Keep name is not a appeearing?
When you add a 3rd action set, it automatically reverts back to another one when you join another instance. E.g Battleground / Dungeon etc and you have to reset the action set.
Also sometimes the skills bugg and dont transfer the allocated points over untill you reselect your spec
is there any way you could make it swap it faster?
Since the last update, it seems that every build I save applies to ALL builds on that LAS.
If I save BuildA on LAS1 and BuildB on LAS2, everything works fine and I can switch between them without problems. However, say I create build C on LAS1. Suddenly, while BuildA still appears on the list, trying to switch to it results in switching to BuildC. BuildB on the other LAS still works perfecly, and BuildC also loads as itself.
This applies to any number of builds for a given LAS. The last one saved for that LAS is the one that loads no matter which build you click on.
retracting the combat portion. its just that skill points are still hung up in previous skills when changing las sometimes. i assume this occurso nly between each amp set. i suppose you could have the skills that are in memory manually removed before switching amp sets? that may work.
I am at a loss as to what would be causing it, because I can't duplicate it on my end, and I literally put in the code to cycle through every single one of your abilities and set it to 0 points...becuase I did what you said before, I just set the current LAS abilities to 0, but the problem was if there was points put into something (because maybe you adjusted ability points without using the addon) then it wouldn't know to erase those. So it now zero outs every single ability...so if it's still happening I have no clue what's happening.
What does still seem to be a problem is the gadgets. Even with the same ability it still messes up sometimes, I have noticed certain areas where you can't even change your LAS, even without the addon. so i'm not sure if there are new weird bugs being introduced into the game or what. Yesterday in Blighthaven onceI got the group 5+ area it wouldn't let me change abilities even in the ability builder, I disabled Max Loadouts in my addons and it still wouldn't let me change.
still not re allocating skills points properly when switching
yeah I need to put an inCombat flag in there. I was also in Malgrave last night and was unable to change my LAS, even without the mod. I tried making changes manually from the ability builder and it wouldn't work still, was extremely irritating. I had to recall out, make the changes and port back in. Once I did that, it gadget glitched out my settings again rendering me unable to switch. Which I found odd because I ignore the gadgets now. But when I logged out, opened the saved settings file, blanked out the gadget and logged back in, everything worked fine again.
So i'm curious now if this still happens, I want to try removing my gadget and then swapping loadouts to see if that would correct it. Because that would essentially be doing the same thing.
still glitches out if you accidently are in combat/aggro while trying to swtich las
The entire point of the Limited Action Set system in Wildstar is that you only have access to 8 abilities during combat. This addon just lets you easily switch between different sets of abilities while out of combat.
Is it possible to make this to where you can hold down alt or ctrl (or any other button for that matter) to use skills on the additional limited skill bars so I don't have to switch an entire load out? Or use the "f" keys (F1 etc.) to use additional skills? I hate this new trend of dumba** limitations in skill bars in MMOs now because plebs. get over whelmed by having so many on their screens and tough things like variety lol. (not the author of this mod, I mean people that have convinced game devs that they need to limit us and pretend it's strategy)
In other words, any way with this mod to access multiple hotbar-skills beyond the limited 8 without completely switching action bars? Perhaps using F1-F12 keys or by holding down another key + 1 through 0 to do this. That way, I can see all the skills I have at one time and use them any time I want without switching to another 8 skills-hotbar.
