🔖【模組說明&玩法筆記 / Module Introduction & Gameplay Notes】↴

This is a post-apocalyptic setting that takes place after a nuclear explosion. The following gameplay instructions are adapted from the original author's article. This mod includes numerous overlays, so it's recommended to use a dedicated save file when playing. If you encounter any issues, feel free to leave a message for the mod author.

◈倖存者和安置點/Survivors and Settlements◈

To begin setting up the survival mod, you’ll need to assign the 'Survivor' trait to all Sims. This trait can be found under the 'Lifestyle' category in Create-a-Sim (CAS).

Sims with the Survivor trait will gain access to all of the mod’s interaction options. However, it also restricts them from performing certain actions that would make survival too easy—such as freely taking food from the fridge.

NPC survivors who are eligible to join your faction will automatically come with the Survivor trait.

◈空虛的世界/Empty Worlds◈

All worlds and neighborhoods are now empty, meaning you won't see any other Sims hanging out. Sims will hide in their houses.

◈地段特徵/Lot Trait◈

Survivors will need a 'Survivor Base', and adding this Lot Trait is essential to fully experience everything this mod has to offer. This trait allows your Sims to live completely off the grid and disables household bills.

For players who prefer building underground shelters, Sims will receive a 'Safe and Sound' buff while inside these constructions.

Combining this Lot Trait with the Survivor Trait creates the ideal setup for the complete survival gameplay experience.

◈通訊/COMMUNICATIONS◈

As a survivor, the first thing you should consider is getting your external communications working properly. Communications towers and satellite dishes or wall-mounted satellites require repairs and upgrade parts to be fully repaired. These communications items can be purchased through buy mode.

Once fixed, you will be able to send messages to traders and other survivors using the "[LN] Radio Device" which can be purchased in buy mode. Only one message can be sent every 24 hours.

◈貿易/TRADE◈

Simoleons are useless in the apocalypse — Sims now use a new currency called Bottle Caps, which can be found by searching through objects.

Bottle Caps can be traded with Traders for essential items such as food and clean drinking water. You can also find a "Bottle Cap Box" item in your Sim’s Carry-On Bag; opening it will give you more Bottle Caps than what Sims typically find while scavenging outside.

◈貿易商/Traders◈

In this desolate new world, your Sims will come across various Traders.

Using the Communication Station, they can call three types of Traders: Wasteland Medics, Food Traders, and Scrap Traders. At times, your Sims may have no choice but to depend on these Traders for survival.

◈口渴和腹瀉/Thirst and Diarrhea◈

Your Sims will develop a thirst need, and ignoring it will eventually lead them to die of dehydration. However, this feature is disabled by default. To enable it, go to the Survival Cheats Menu.

The most common water source in the wasteland is dirty water. Drinking too much of it can cause your Sims to develop dysentery. If left untreated, this condition can eventually be fatal.

Dysentery can be cured by drinking clean water, which can occasionally be found while scavenging or purchased from traders.

◈其他倖存者/Other Survivors◈

Using the radio device, you can call other survivors once every 24 hours. When a survivor responds and finds your location, you’ll have the option to either invite them to stay or send them away.

If you choose to let them stay in your settlement, they will be assigned various roles such as farming, repair work, or scavenging.

To send survivors out on search or hunting missions, click on "[LN] Settlement Administration" or interact with the repair vehicle.

◈搜索工作/SEARCH FOR JOBS◈

To send your Sims out on a supply run, click on them and choose "Search for Supplies" under the Survival menu. They’ll disappear into a rabbit hole and return with useful items.

Alternatively, you can search for supplies in other parts of the world by selecting "Search for Useful Items". Your Sim will wander the area for a while before finding something valuable.

◈闖入房屋/開鎖/Breaking into Houses/Lockpicking◈

Your survivors can attempt to break into other houses, using and leveling up the new Lockpicking skill to improve their chances of success.

If a house is unowned and empty, they’re free to loot its contents—and can even stay there for extended periods to sleep, eat, and bathe if they choose.

However, if the house is still occupied, and the residents catch your Sim trespassing, they’ll fight back until your Sim leaves. These confrontations can result in injuries, which may reduce the amount of loot your Sim collects during scavenging or hunting trips.

◈打獵/Hunting◈

Sims now have the option to hunt for food. Using the Survivor menu or a vehicle, you can send your Sims on a hunting trip. If your Sims are unavailable, you can instead send out survivors from your settlement to raid other settlements. When they return, use the "Collect" interaction to retrieve the loot they’ve brought back.

Hunting is also connected to new campfire cooking options. Any meat caught during a hunt can be cooked over a campfire in various ways. This also applies to vegetables, fruits, and fish. Some types of meat can even be eaten raw immediately.

◈可修理的車輛/修車技能/汽油/Repairable Vehicles/Car Repair Skills/Gasoline◈

Vehicles still exist in the apocalypse, but they must be repaired before use. Your Sims can study broken-down vehicles to develop new Auto Mechanic skills, and they can also find Auto Mechanic skill books to help them learn faster.

Once they’ve gained enough knowledge and collected the necessary parts, they can begin repairing the vehicles they own or those acquired from Traders!

Vehicles can help shorten the duration of scavenging or hunting trips. There are currently four different types of vehicles, each with unique specifications.

Pickup trucks can carry more Sims and haul back more loot but consume more fuel per trip. In contrast, regular vehicles use less fuel but bring back smaller amounts of loot.

Then there’s the Broadcaster, which has a chance to bring back additional survivors.

◈變異蜜蜂/Mutated Bees◈

Added mutated beehives. These bees make mutated honey with special qualities that, once consumed, will grant your Sims temporary temperature immunity. If used during a nuclear winter, this may give your Sims more time to hunt and scavenge.

◈核冬天/Nuclear Winter◈(困難模式)

Another new feature, Nuclear Winter, plunges your Sims into a constant winter. Food becomes harder to grow, and freezing temperatures occur frequently, making looting more challenging.

This serves as an additional “hard mode” for players seeking a tougher survival experience.

Note: This feature requires the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter expansion packs. Using it in worlds that don’t support snow (such as Solani) may cause visual glitches. While the effects will still apply, snow visuals will only appear in snowy areas.

◈遺傳特徵/Inherited Traits◈

All children born to survivors will automatically gain survivor traits without having to manually add them to CAS.

Additionally, characters born during Nuclear Winter will gain the Nuclear Winter Baby trait.

◈其他物品/功能/Other Items/Features◈

• Shampoo - Can be obtained from looting or trading. If in your Sim's bag, they will have the option to bathe with it and they will receive a positive buff. (There will also be a bathing animation)

• Laundry Tub - A laundry basket more appropriate for the end of the world (requires Happy Laundry Day DLC)

• Vitamin D Deficiency – If your Sims take shelter in an underground building for too long, they will eventually develop Vitamin D Deficiency. You’ll receive notifications as the condition worsens from mild to severe. When severely deficient, Sims may feel dazed, lose the energy to run, and become too tired to meet their fun and social needs. Getting some sunlight will cure this.
  (Note: Vitamin D Deficiency has been temporarily removed because it wasn’t working as intended. If it’s fixed in the future, it will be reintroduced. However, Sims will still receive negative effects from staying underground too long.)
• Bunker Recognition – Survivor Sims can sense when they are safe underground and will receive a positive buff. However, be cautious, as spending too much time underground can lead to Vitamin D Deficiency.
• Deodorant – Since running water is harder to come by, your Sims can now find Deodorant through looting or trading. Using it will help fulfill their Hygiene needs.

• Survivor Pantry - A new shelf with slots for food to be placed on for NPC survivors to grab and eat. This is an easy way to keep them automatically well-fed and happy without having to constantly keep an eye on them.

• Dangerous Strangers - Everyone is just trying to survive in this new desolate world, but who knows what they will do to ensure that. Your Sims will be wary of any Sim they don't have a relationship with.

• Freezers can be used for preservation - Although all refrigerators no longer offer the option of directly grabbing food, you can still use a cooler to preserve food.

• No more bills.
• The Tomarang Night Market is no longer in operation. Survivors cannot use the Tomarang Fish Market or Temple.
• Most NPC spawns have been blocked, though some unblocked Sims may still appear occasionally. So, if you play in this world, you might see a few Sims wandering around.
• Survivors can use refrigerators and ovens as long as there is enough power from sources like solar panels, and they have the necessary ingredients for recipes.
• A “Clear Old Food” interaction has been added to refrigerators. There is a 50% chance to find multiple food or drinks. Once cleared, the refrigerator remains empty permanently. However, you can use the cheat by shift-clicking on these empty refrigerators to refill them.
• A “Mending” interaction has been added to satellites, offering another way to increase the Dexterity skill.
• A “Travel” interaction is now available when clicking on a survivor Sim under the Survival menu. It functions similarly to mobile travel but does not use the mobile animation or menu.
• Survivors with the Survivalist Base lot trait can use a grill on their lot, as long as they have the required materials (including a BBQ pit from Island Living).
• Survivors are now completely unable to use their phones. Clicking on the phone will display a message stating that phone use is disabled. This feature is optional—if you don’t want it, you can disable it by going to Overrides > Remove for Regular Gameplay > Basegame > [LN_S] Phone Override.

• Welcome float/postman does not appear – Please ensure that the ‘Survival Base’ lot trait is applied.
• No interactions available – Make sure your Sim has the Survivor trait.
• Settlement Authority shows no interactions – Only NPC survivors who have joined your settlement can use this feature.
• Breaking into a house now uses the ‘rental’ animation and is fully compatible with the base game.
