Your Sim sits down at a bar to order a drink. The bartender is chatting with a patron, then he starts to juggle bottles. Some rando wanders behind the bar to watch TV. The bartender isn't really tending the bar so nobody can order ANYTHING. Only Bartenders Behind Bars puts everyone where they belong and on task.
Why You Need This
Vanilla bartenders wander off, stand behind the bar without actually tending it, or get pulled away by socials and reactions. A bar with nobody attending it cannot be ordered from at all, including by your own Sims. Patrons drift behind the counter to sit, socialize, grab their drinks, or clean up. It's anarchy! This mod keeps bars working the way they should.
How It Works
Bartenders stay at the bar. Interactions that would pull a working bartender away from their station are refused. One who has drifted out front gets sent back. Player-directed interactions are never blocked.
Patrons stay out of the service area. Nobody wanders behind the counter to chat, clean, grab a drink, or walk across the room. The Sim's final position for an interaction is evaluated instead of where their target is, so a television mounted behind the bar can still be watched from the customer side. Ordering is never restricted: the bar and the bartender are never forbidden destinations.
Dish clearing during real downtime. A bartender idle at the bar for a sustained stretch will clear and wash dirty dishes if present, then return to the station.
Bar tricks are limited. Practicing tricks takes a bartender off the job entirely. A 45 sim-minute cooldown keeps flourishes occasional rather than constant. Flourishes performed while making a drink are untouched.
Home lots are left alone. On residential lots a bar is furniture and the space behind it just part of a room your family lives in. None of the service area rules apply there. A hired mixologist at a house party still works normally.
Bartenders going off shift, leaving the lot, or finishing up with a carried item are never interrupted.
Requirements
- The Sims 4 (base game only, no packs required)
Installation
- Download and unzip into your Mods folder:
Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/ - In-game, go to Game Options → Other and make sure Script Mods are enabled
⚠️ Both the
.ts4scriptand.packagefiles are required for full feature set. The mod still runs without the package but bar tricks will not be limited.
Compatibility
Designed to work in harmony with No Community Dish Clearing, which stops non-service Sims from clearing dishes and glassware on community lots.
No known conflicts with other bar or autonomy mods.
