The jealousy system is severly lacking in TS4 compared to its predecessors. I'm sure we've all seen the videos comparing TS4 to past games. Inspired by Mokunoid's "Better Romantic Jealousy", but built from the ground up, this mod completely reworks the jealousy reaction system to provide more dramatic and personality-driven responses to a Sim's Romantic Boundaries being crossed.

I recommend using this mod with Romance Success Tweaks for the most optimal experience.

Note: The jealousy reactions for witnessing WooHoo are untouched for now as they are a whole separate system. I will create a WooHoo addon in the near future.

Core System Changes

• Logical Reaction Targeting: When a romantic interaction occurs between two Sims, any romantically involved Sims in the vicinity will turn their attention to the situation, and react accordingly based on their Romantic Boundaries.
• Fair Consequences: Partners/romantic interests are only labeled as cheaters if they actively accept or initiate romantic interactions. Sims are no longer blamed for rejecting unwanted advances.
• Personality-Driven Reactions: Reactions are now influenced by a Sim’s Traits, ensuring that their behavior feels consistent with their personality.

Trait-Based Reactions

• Sims with Traits like Proper, Socially Anxious (Kuttoe) and Coward (Kuttoe) will be more likely to Walk Away when their Romantic Boundaries are crossed.
• Sims with Traits like Argumentative, Perfectionist, and Snob will be more likely to Argue with a cheater.
• Sims with Traits like Dramatic, Self-Absorbed, and High Maintenance will be more likely to Yell, drawing everyone's attention.
• Sims with Traits like Hot-Headed, Mean, and Evil will be more likely to Shove an attempted homewrecker.
• Sims with Traits like Jealous, Uncontrolled Emotions, and Paranoid will be more likely to Slap their cheating partner.
• Sims with Traits like Self-Assured, High Self-Esteem, and Carefree will be more likely to laugh off any failed attempts at another person hitting on their partner.

Immediate Cheating Repercussions

• Emotional Fallout for Cheaters: Sims caught cheating may experience temporary negative emotions such as Embarrassed, Sad, or Stressed, depending on their traits.
• Witness Reactions: Sims who witness cheating will not only lose relationship points with their partner but also with the other Sim involved in the affair.
• Friendship Impact: Witnesses become significantly angrier if the cheating involves one of their friends.
• Consistent Sentiments: All Sims involved in these situations will now gain relevant sentiments more consistently.
• Reputation Consequences: Cheating Sims or those who flirt with someone already in a relationship may now lose reputation. Sims who respond to cheating with physical aggression risk losing a small amount of reputation as well.
• Area Reactions: Most Sims in the vicinity will react to the confrontation of a cheater.

How It Works

• When Sim A is approached by Sim C, Sim B (their partner) will place the blame on Sim C, the instigator, and wait to see how Sim A reacts.
• If Sim A accepts advances from Sim C, Sim B will react negatively to both parties.
• If Sim A rejects advances from Sim C, Sim B may either brush off the interaction or react negatively to Sim C, depending on their Traits.
• If Sim A initiates a romantic interaction with Sim C, Sim B will place the blame on Sim A and become angry at Sim C only if they reciprocate.

Compatibility

✅ This mod is compatible with Lumpinou's RPO Collection, but make sure "No Jealousy if Partner Rejects Another's Advances" is turned off.

⚠️ This mod is not compatible with LunarBritney's "Cheating Milestone Fix". Their fix is incorporated in this mod.
