Go Back To Sleep

Your Sims go to bed at a reasonable hour. Then they wake up at 3am having to use the bathroom and when they're done decide it's the perfect time to watch TV, browse the internet, or start that new painting. By morning they're exhausted and you're super annoyed. Go Back To Sleep sends them back to bed where they belong.

Why You Need This

Sims have no concept of inappropriate hours for autonomous activity. Wake up at 3am, use the bathroom, then cook a full meal? Sure, why not? This mod gives them the nudge they need to actually go back to sleep instead of burning through the night on activities that could (and should) wait until morning.

How It Works

The mod checks every 5 sim-minutes whether any Sim on the active lot is awake between 8pm and 5am. If they woke up for a legitimate reason it waits for them to finish. Otherwise it cancels whatever they're doing and pushes them back to their assigned bed. If no assigned bed is found the mod uses the first available bed on the lot.

Always allowed, any time:

• Using the toilet and washing hands afterward
• Bladder distress animations
• Monster under the bed interactions
• Turning off the stereo
• Putting away leftover dishes
• Infant, bassinet, toddler, and newborn care including caregiver interactions

Allowed only when the motive is critical (below -75):

• Eating or getting food from the fridge
• Taking a bath or shower

Always allowed when player-directed. Any action you explicitly queue for a Sim will never be cancelled regardless of what it is. If you want them up doing laundry at midnight, that's your call.

Everything else, TV, computer, autonomous cooking, socializing, skill building, all of it gets cancelled and your Sim goes back to sleep.

Requirements

• The Sims 4 — base game only, no packs required

Installation

1. Download deadlystingnyc_go_back_to_sleep.zip
2. Drop the unzipped folder into your Mods folder: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/
3. In-game, go to Game Options → Other and make sure Script Mods are enabled

Compatibility

• No tuning overrides. Patches Python directly, making conflicts with other mods unlikely
