This mod aims to deepen the impact of a Sim's childhood by linking child skill development to lasting adult traits. If your Sim struggles to develop the Mental, Motor, Social, and Creativity skills far enough, they will acquire new negative traits that will slow their skill growth as adults.

4 New Traits

Boneheaded
Boneheaded Sims build mental skills slower.

Tongue-Tied
Tongue-Tied Sims build social skills slower.

Unimaginative
Unimaginative Sims build creative skills slower.

Uncoordinated
Uncoordinated Sims build physical skills slower.

How It Works

For Played Sims

• When a played Sim ages from Child to Teen, if they haven't reached level 4 in any of the childhood skills, they’ll acquire that skill's negative trait.

Notifications

• Once your Sim reaches level 4 in a childhood skill, you'll receive a notification confirming that the risk of developing the corresponding negative trait has been eliminated.

For Non-Played Sims

• When a non-played Sim ages from Child to Teen, there's a small chance they’ll receive a negative trait, influenced by their existing traits.

Balanced Slowness

• These negative traits serve as the counterparts to the Mentally Gifted, Socially Gifted, Creatively Gifted, and Physically Gifted reward traits. Sims with the positive traits learn skills 25% faster (at a 1.25× rate). Sims with these negative traits will progress at a slower rate of 0.75×.

Compatibility

• This mod does not directly overwrite any files so it won't conflict with other mods.
• This mod is base game compatible.
