Does anyone else miss Robot Butlers? Well, I kinda dig the idea. One catch: you can't just assign a Sim you make to be a butler.
And that's exactly what I've done!
To become a butler, just buy the reward trait and use your phone or the computer to apply for a job. Done! You'll have to use cheats to remove the butler trait, though.
When playing within the butler's household this career acts as a rabbithole career while it acts as a fully functional butler when hired out! I haven't fully tested this out yet, so there may be some surprises (as this career wasn't meant to be used like this) but it seems to work well enough for me ... and there isn't much to be done beyond what I've done.
Opening this career up was very similar to the maid's career. It had that same oddity with their uniforms - where it's applied when the butler "situation" happens instead of on the career outfits slot. And, like the maid career, to change the career outfit use MCC or use sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas in the cheat console.
Beyond this, I think only opening up the Alien Pollinator career really appeals to me ... but we'll see, I guess.
Needless to say, you need vintage glamour stuff to make use of butlers.
*IMPORTANT*:
In order to do some tasks you need to set those skills to 10 (maybe lower; I haven't tested out individual numbers). So that's: using the DJ booth, burning up the dance floor, playing the piano, violin, or guitar. Is these skills aren't high enough your butler just won't do these tasks.
