Bestiary TCG – Collect Every Creature as a Trading Card

Turn every creature you kill in World of Warcraft into a collectible card. Open packs, find Chrome and Full Art rares, trade with friends and complete your bestiary. Retail (Midnight) and WoW: Forever.

Bestiary TCG

Every creature you kill becomes a collectible card.

Each NPC you defeat drops a secret, face-down card into your loot pack. Fill the pack, open it with the points you earn, and find out what you caught: a Common boar, or maybe a Legendary Chrome Full Art world boss. Build your collection, trade with friends, show off your best pulls, take on daily contracts, and visit the Ethereal Merchant when the Darkmoon Faire comes to town.

Works on World of Warcraft Retail (Midnight) and World of Warcraft: Forever. One download for both.

Features

Collect as you play

  • Every kill becomes a card with a 3D portrait of the creature, Cost, Attack, Health, race, faction and an ability.
  • Nothing to set up: kills are detected while you quest, level, run dungeons and raids, or farm at max level.
  • The bestiary is secret. You only find out which creature a card is when you open the pack.

Loot packs

  • Each zone fills its own pack (Loot Pack · Elwynn Forest), one card per creature. Five cards seal it.
  • Sealed packs wait in the main window. Hover one and it starts to tear open; click it to open it.
  • Cards turn over one by one, with a glow for rare pulls and a fanfare for Legendaries.
  • Open all turns every sealed pack at once, with a paged view of the whole haul.

Boss Packs

  • Killing a dungeon boss, raid boss or world boss gives you a free Boss Pack named after it.
  • It holds only the boss card, always Rare or better.
  • Boss cards have legendary stats (Cost 5 to 10) and a Boss Power: two abilities unique to that boss.

Your collection

  • Compact cards showing the 3D model, mana, name, faction and race logos, ability, Attack and Health.
  • Filters that combine: rarity, Chrome / Full Art, mana cost (1 to 10), race, faction, search by name or by ability (for example "snipe"), hide cards without ability, hide cards of unknown race, bosses only.

Cards with real stats

  • Attack and Health come from real Hearthstone stat lines for each Cost, from 1 to 10.
  • Some creatures are glass cannons, others are walls: beasts and demons hit hard, giants and mechanicals take hits.
  • Every rarity and special finish rolls its own stats, so a better copy of the same creature is a new card.

Races, factions and abilities

  • 10 races: Beast, Critter, Humanoid, Undead, Dragonkin, Elemental, Demon, Mechanical, Giant and Aberration.
  • 5 factions, each with its own logo on the card: Wild, Elemental, Shadow, Forge and Neutral.
  • Abilities: each race has 5 (Pack, Sneak, Enrage, Haste, Rise, Poison, Taunt, Thorns, Snipe and many more). Every creature gets one of them, always the same one. About 30% of creatures have none.

Rarity and special finishes

Every card rolls its own rarity in the WoW item quality colors. A world boss can be Common and a boar can be Legendary.

Rarity Chance
Common 55%
Uncommon 28%
Rare 11%
Epic 5%
Legendary 1%

Special finishes roll apart from rarity and stack with it:

Finish Chance
Chrome (prismatic foil with a moving shine) 2% (1 in 50)
Full Art (the creature fills the whole card) 1% (1 in 100)
Chrome + Full Art 1 in 5,000
Legendary + Chrome + Full Art 1 in 500,000

Bounty Board: daily contracts

A tab with contracts that pay for packs. Also at /bt bounties.

  • 3 daily contracts, renewed with the game's daily reset:
    • Hunt: kill one specific creature from your bestiary. The board tells you where it lives and its level, and shows its model.
    • Thin the herds: kill 20 to 100 creatures of any kind.
    • Big game: kill 1 to 3 bosses or rare creatures.
  • The Great Hunt: 1 weekly contract, renewed with the weekly reset. One of those three with bigger numbers (5 of one creature, 250 to 500 creatures, or 10 to 15 bosses or rares).
  • Rewards, claimed on the tab: a daily contract pays the Bestiary points to open one loot pack at today's price, plus 1 pack purchase. The weekly one pays enough for the next 10 packs, plus 10 pack purchases.
  • Progress shows on screen and the chat tells you when a contract is complete. The tab shows how many rewards are waiting.
  • Contracts are per character; rewards go to your account like your other points.

Play with others

  • Trading: trade cards with anyone in your group. Both players build an offer and the trade happens when both accept.
  • Captured by: every card remembers who caught it. Cards you receive show Captured by <name> forever.
  • Sharing: Ctrl+click a card to show it in chat. Nearby players with Bestiary TCG see a clickable link, like an item link, and can open the whole card.

The Ethereal Merchant (Darkmoon Faire)

He travels with the Darkmoon Faire. While the faire is open, his tab lets you fix any card:

  • Give a race to a card. Pick any race; the card gets an ability and stats of that race. Price: 500 Bestiary points and 5 pack purchases.
  • Give a name to a card. Type any name you like. Price: 100 Bestiary points and 1 pack purchase.

Prices are fixed and never go up. Fixed cards become Moon-bound, marked with their own logo, and can still be traded.

The Darkmoon Faire opens once a month for a week: on Retail it starts the first Sunday of the month, on Forever the first Monday. When it is closed, the tab shows a wooden sign with a countdown to the next one.

Points

  • Kills: 5 Bestiary points per kill (10 for elites, 50 for rares and bosses).
  • Quests: 100 Bestiary points per quest turned in. Quests also give pack purchases.
  • Bounty Board: daily and weekly contracts pay packs.
  • Burning: burn cards you don't need, from 4 points for a Common up to 30 for a Legendary, doubled for Chrome and again for Full Art.

Feels like part of the game

  • One main window with tabs (Packs, Collection, Bounty Board, Ethereal Merchant), styled like the default UI.
  • A minimap button, plus in-game rules and FAQ.
  • Available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Portuguese (follows your game language).

Good to know

  • Each character has its own collection and contracts. Retail and Forever keep separate data.
  • Trading and card links need Bestiary TCG on both sides. Trades can only start out of combat.
  • In dungeons and raids the game hides creature names and types during combat. They are filled in a few seconds after the fight (/bt names forces it). If a card stays as "NPC #1234", the Ethereal Merchant can name it.
  • Some boss cards need you to target the boss's body after the kill to learn their race; /bt research lists them.

Bestiary Arena: ready to play

Your cards also play in Bestiary TCG Arena, a companion addon:

  • Automatic card battles against other players.
  • An endless co-op Horde.
  • A hero that levels up.
  • A ranch to train your cards.

Arena uses the same stats, races, abilities and Moon-bound cards.
