Misplaced | a backrooms horror map [​Pre-Release v8.5.0] VS mode improvement update part II June 17th 2025

  • Removed:

    - Removed custom model data format on all textures
    - Removed oldest smiler model

  • Updated:

    - Updated map to 1.21.4 (Candidate to native version of the map)
    - Set a permanent format for versions, where hotfix patches will be a number at the end of the version name
    - Item models now doesnt require a specific item to be displayed
    - Resource pack models are now in a separated namespace (Not java animated related)
    - Updated campaign mode Skin Stealer model
    - Debug disk puzzle rooms are now properly highlighted on campaing mode
    - Main tasks on the map are now more readable
    - Mall puzzle: now saves progress if you unlocked the last part of the puzzle
    - Campaign mode almond water new effects: Restores a bit of stamina | Neutralizes a bit of Radiation
    - Updated Smiler model on all modes
    - Added map version on the load function
    - Added a warning for players on early game trying to access late game zones on campaign mode
    - Improved "Nowhere to hide" cutscene (campaign mode)
    - Updated pitfalls look on campaign mode
    - Updated staring bacteria model
    - Updated modern backrooms bacteria spawn

  • New content:

    - Added language flags to the font files
    - Added speedrun detection on campaign mode (won't affect gameplay)

    - Added VS mode map 3: Habitable zone
    - New items for VS mode: Taser | Flare | Energy drink + | Antidote | Lifeform radar
    - VS mode map 3 Modifiers: Mystery mode | Scariest mode | The randomizer | Closingrooms


  • Bug Fixes:

    - Fixed an issue that caused "Nowhere to Hide" advancement to delay after the cutscene
    - Fixed a bug that would make players die infinitely if an item was thrown on a pressure plate on mall puzzle
    - Fixed an issue that would make players lose less stamina while sprinting and jumping on campaign mode
    - Fixed an issue that would make the dark hallway not night time
    - Fixed players being able to move on Bad Ending cutscene
    - Fixed players being able to be softlocked on secret ending house
    - Fixed players being able to pick up item frames on campaing mode
    Optifine is no longer required to play the map (it is now optional, may cause black screen issues on some devices. Added Sodium as an alternative)
    - Fixed spanish language typo for liquid pain item on campaign mode
    - Fixed broken tripod head decoration not spawning on campaign mode
    - Fixed Noclip controller not working as intended for some destinations
    - Fixed map lobby commands not working properly
    - Fixed white fence texture and model

    - [​Sandbox mode]: cosmetics hat are now equippable using right click
    - [​Sandbox mode]: Translated cosmetics to spanish
    - [​Sandbox mode]: Dark chocolate is now an edible item

    - [​Sandbox mode]: cosmetic hats can now be used outside of sandbox mode (Not allowed on VS mode anymore)
    - [​Sandbox mode]: Procedural generation is now faster and causes less lag on most devices
