Description
Stoneborn • MCA Addons
A Minecraft 1.20.1 resource pack that gives my MCA addons a unified STONEBORN 3.2.3-inspired look.
It replaces supported addon interfaces with dark brown panels, gold and bronze framing, white text, translucent HUD elements, and matching buttons, cards, bars, tabs, and other UI elements.
Version 1.1.0 also includes a custom GUI text shader so the addons' normally hardcoded dark text remains readable against the darker Stoneborn-style backgrounds.
Installation
- Place
Stoneborn-MCA-Addons-1.20.1-v1.1.0.zipin yourresourcepacksfolder. - Enable both this pack and STONEBORN 3.2.3.
- Place Stoneborn • MCA Addons above STONEBORN in the resource pack list.
- Reload resources with F3 + T if needed.
Leave the pack zipped. If you're upgrading from the old 1.0.0 parchment version, disable or remove it first.
This is a resource pack, not a mod or datapack. No OptiFine or additional compatibility mod is required.
Supported Addons
Designed around the following versions:
- MCA: Quests 1.6.5
- Quest menu, quest log, journal, community projects, tracker HUD, progress bars, buttons, tabs, cards, profession/state icons, and more.
- MCA: Crime 0.7.4
- Interaction screens, guard challenges, case dossiers, bail and captive menus, configuration screens, mask station, HUD elements, player cards, and more.
- MCA: Conversations 1.7.1
- Supported Minecraft-based controls inherit Stoneborn styling. Some parts of the Conversations interface are drawn directly by the mod and cannot be replaced through a resource pack.
- MCA: Reputation 0.6.0
Other versions may work as long as their texture paths and layouts remain compatible.
Text Shader Compatibility
Several of the MCA addons use fixed dark text colors that normally become difficult to read on darker interfaces. Since this pack does not modify the addon JARs, version 1.1.0 adjusts matching GUI text colors through Minecraft's text shaders.
Dark text is converted to white or brighter equivalents while preserving normal bright text, shadows, transparency, and world-space text.
Because resource packs cannot determine which mod submitted a particular text draw, this adjustment can also affect matching text colors in other mods or vanilla screens. Light-background interfaces from other mods may therefore look slightly different while this pack is active.
The pack also overrides Minecraft's rendertype_text*.vsh shaders. Other resource packs, shader systems, or rendering mods that replace those shaders may conflict with the recoloring.
Stoneborn • MCA Addons should remain above packs that modify the same shaders.
Known Limitations
This pack stays completely resource-pack-only, so anything drawn directly through Java cannot always be reskinned.
Notable examples include:
- Parts of MCA: Conversations, including several dialogue surfaces and Minimal Mode elements.
- Fixed dark backdrops used by some MCA: Quests map and Atlas screens.
- Small procedurally drawn Crime UI details.
- World-space markers, third-party map canvases, runtime-tinted elements, and other code-defined visuals.
Vanilla buttons, tooltips, backgrounds, and widgets will continue to inherit whatever the main STONEBORN pack provides.
Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.20.1
- Pack Format: 15
- Designed for: STONEBORN 3.2.3
- OptiFine Required: No
- Shader Pack Required: No
The included shader overrides are specifically built for Minecraft 1.20.1 and are not intended for other Minecraft versions.
Testing
The pack has been validated for archive structure, texture dimensions, sprite layouts, addon texture coverage, transparency, text contrast, and shader compilation/execution.
That said, real-world compatibility can still vary depending on your installed resource packs, rendering mods, GUI scale, and addon versions.
If something looks wrong, first make sure:
- This pack is above STONEBORN.
- No other pack is overriding the same MCA addon textures.
- No renderer or shader system is replacing Minecraft's core text shaders.
- You're using compatible addon versions.
