What's new

Vanlied 0.3.0 Beta 5 — The First Open Test

Minecraft 26.1.2 · NeoForge 26.1.2.94 · Java 25

Beta 5 is the first public build of Vanlied: a multiplayer survival-adventure pack about leaving familiar paths, overcoming something dangerous, and bringing what you find home to build a world worth returning to.

This is not a kitchen-sink pack with a menu full of disconnected systems. Vanlied brings exploration, combat, building, movement, ambience, maps, storage, and interface work into one authored experience—then tunes the client and server so those pieces can live together cleanly.

A wilder Overworld

Season Zero begins in a fresh, persistent Overworld. Tectonic, Terralith, and Biomes O' Plenty reshape the landscape with broader terrain, distinctive regions, and journeys that feel larger than the distance travelled.

The world is filled with expanded villages, dungeons, mineshafts, ruins, archaeological sites, and hidden structures. Xaero's maps, waystones, backpacks, compasses, and Distant Horizons help you plan ambitious expeditions without removing the need to prepare for them.

Future realms will arrive as seasonal expansions. They are deliberately not installed and hidden in this build: an unreleased dimension should not leak recipes, portals, world generation, or background errors into Season Zero.

Combat with weight

Better Combat, Combat Roll, parrying, expanded enchantments, jewelry, attributes, equipment, and stronger creatures make fights more deliberate and give characters room to specialise.

Vanlied is not designed around constant punishment. Combat progression exists to make preparation, equipment choices, exploration rewards, and cooperation matter. Beta balancing is intentionally still open: the test period will help set the right relationship between player power, creature difficulty, and future dimension tiers.

Build somewhere worth returning to

An expedition should change more than your inventory. Vanlied adds furniture, decoration, storage, workstations, village detail, practical building tools, and a wide material palette so a starter shelter can grow into a workshop, settlement, fortress, or shared community project.

The permanent Homestead and player-market systems shown on vanlied.com are future server features, not hidden advantages in this client. Beta 5 lays the world and building foundation they will use.

An interface made for Vanlied

The public profile is multiplayer-first. Its centered Vanlied panel connects directly to play.vanlied.com; Singleplayer remains confined to the separate owner QA build.

Beta 5 includes:

  • a Vanlied title screen, loading sequence, background, logo, and server panel;
  • a consistent Coffee GUI stack across inventories and supported mod screens;
  • original Vanlied advancement toasts;
  • Traveler's Titles with the owner-selected illustrated realm-title family;
  • quieter first-login behaviour and a deliberately controlled chat surface;
  • immersive rain, water, environmental, and spatial sound treatment.

New in Beta 5

Movement and presence

  • Better Climbing, Crawl, and InvMove make movement more expressive without turning traversal into unrestricted flight.
  • Chunks Fade In softens newly loaded terrain instead of making it pop into view.
  • Cool Rain Reforged, Wakes Reforged, and Sound Physics Remastered give weather, water, interiors, and distance more presence.

Survival and building

  • Healing Campfire and Inventory Totem add practical recovery tools.
  • Xerca's Building Blocks and Xerca's Kitchen broaden the materials and details available to builders.
  • Better Block Entities improves compatible block rendering while preserving the valid vanilla path for modded signs.

Interface and privacy

  • No Telemetry removes unwanted telemetry from the client boundary.
  • Item Borders and Ixeris improve item readability.
  • Traveler's Titles and Visual Traveler's Titles now carry Vanlied's seasonal realm presentation.
  • Better Days owns the time-cycle pace; Let Me Sleep remains the multiplayer sleep authority.

Stability work behind the scenes

Beta 5 also contains a substantial compatibility and clean-console pass:

  • repaired invalid decorative-entity placement in retained structures without removing their rooms, mobs, palettes, placement, or loot;
  • repaired malformed models, missing particle textures, atlas assignments, duplicate sprites, sound events, and Coffee heart animation metadata;
  • rebuilt the Coffee GUI archives under the owner's confirmed transformation permission, removing only invalid authoring folders while preserving their runtime assets;
  • rebuilt Visual Traveler's Titles under explicit rights-holder permission, preserving its artwork and updating only the obsolete pack metadata;
  • disabled only the incompatible optimization paths that were producing bad output, rather than hiding their warnings;
  • verified the isolated dedicated server to Done, clean stop, zero ERROR, and zero FATAL entries at the accepted warning baseline.

What remains in open test

Beta means the world is playable, not that every long-term system is finished. Seasonal dimensions, region level caps, quests, Homesteads, the Trading Outpost, guilds, and automated events remain future work and are not claimed as shipped features here.

For this test, please focus on:

  • first launch and the direct-connect flow;
  • joining play.vanlied.com and reconnecting after a normal disconnect;
  • movement, combat, building, storage, maps, weather, and sound;
  • long-distance exploration and chunk-loading behaviour;
  • first-login chat noise, visual inconsistencies, or reproducible console errors.

When reporting a problem, include the action that triggered it, a screenshot for visual issues, and the relevant latest.log excerpt.

Import Beta 5 as a fresh CurseForge profile. Do not overwrite an older beta.
