The Day Earth Stopped is a post-apocalyptic survival modpack for Forge 1.20.1, designed to transform Minecraft into a long-term, realistic, and performance-optimized survival experience.

It combines urban decay, dynamic weather, realistic survival systems, and advanced combat mechanics to create a consistent world where danger exists everywhere, day and night.

The modpack has been curated for both single-player immersion and cinematic storytelling, with special attention to performance balance and atmosphere.

🌍 A Dead World That Still Breathes

The Earth has been reclaimed by rot and rust.
Entire cities lie in ruins, taken back by vegetation and silence.

ChaosZPack [Lost Cities] + William Wythers’ Expanded Ecosphere recreate a world torn between urban collapse and overgrown wilderness.
Immersive Weathering slowly corrodes your surroundings; Weather Storms & Tornadoes rip through the horizon, changing the terrain forever.
True Darkness and DayZombies Rebooted make daylight no longer safe, zombies now hunt under any sun.

🩸 Survival Beyond the Hunger Bar

You are not immortal anymore.

Legendary Survival Overhaul: replaces Minecraft’s health bar with a body-part system (head, arms, legs, torso). Injuries cause bleeding, limping, or reduced strength.
Mediumcore: each death permanently removes one heart, increasing the tension of long-term survival.
Sona: infection system disabled by default, but other features (noise, threat levels) remain active.
Cold, heat, and thirst are real dangers: exhaustion and dehydration build over time.
Zombie Awareness, The Hordes, and Improved Mobs evolve the enemy AI. Smell, light, and sound matter.

You must craft/savage bandages, painkillers, and proper food sources to remain effective. Surviving without preparation quickly becomes impossible.

🧟 Enemies and AI

Zombies are the main threat: faster, louder, and smarter than ever.

Zombie Awareness: zombies detect players through sound, smell, and light sources.
The Hordes: organized group spawns with customizable density and timing.
Survival Instinct: adds tools and different armours totally compatible with The Hordes mod, as the zombies are equipped with them.
Improved Mobs: global difficulty increases the longer you survive.
llpsw Zombie & Zombies Revamped: adds events of zombie variants with different behaviors and textures.
BadMobs: removes neutral and passive mobs (except cows and sheep) to focus entirely on the undead ecosystem.

K-Turrets allow you to drop automated defenses with different types of turrets.

The progression curve in The Day Earth Stopped is designed around phases of survival:

1. Begin with no tools. Search abandoned buildings for food, medicine, and scrap materials. Avoid combat and focus on mobility.

2. Craft basic weapons, campfire, and shelter. Hunt small loot caches, craft steel (via CraftTweaker recipe), and explore city limits.

3. Establish a fixed base. Reinforce doors and walls using Immersive Weathering materials. Install traps and basic turrets.

4. Gather Sky’s Overworld Quartz and Netherite to craft advanced armor, Exoskeleton equipment, and heavy weaponry.

5. Maintain your bunker. Defend against hordes. Automate defenses with turrets, barricades, and ammunition storage. Survive as long as possible.
