This modpack is your go to pack for a lightweight but fun experience, but yes its another tech themed Ex Nihilo skyblock pack.

The idea of SteamSkylands is to create your own factory in the stars, create whatever you wish : be it food, weapons, armour or more. Your goal is your own in this steampunk esque modpack.

As you can tell from looking at the mod list : its main focus is old fashioned feeling tech mods. not where you can place a single block and power your entire building.

Use create or immersive engineering to make large towering windmills and waterfalls with waterwheels and use the kinetic energy to run your factory, on the contrary use clean solar energy from mekanism or biofuel to power large mechanical systems.

For your convinience, the pack includes ProjectE (The famous port of Equivelant exchange) to make building wayyy easier, and to make getting dirt or other finite resources just a little easier in the pack.

and for if you're ever feeling lucky, I threw in chance cubes to test your fortune, will you destroy your island and be forced to live an eternity falling into the void? or will you get buckets of diamonds? who knows!

DISCLAIMER : I dont know how to make it so it auto generates a sky island, so you may have to create your own map!
