0verHaul 1.0.0
What's new
0verHaul 1.0.0
The first full release. Still Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge, still the same big pack, now updated, cleaned up and faster to start.
New
- A new main menu made for the pack: a dusk scene with a factory, a floating island and a fortress portal, the 0verHaul logo, and all the buttons in one tidy column.
- A new loading screen in the same style, and the 0verHaul gear as the window icon.
- Better default settings for a big pack (render distance 10, Fancy graphics, 120 FPS cap). They only apply on a fresh install, so your own settings and keys stay as they are when you update.
- The quest book now has a key: L (Advancements moved to ;).
- Key clashes sorted out: Combat Roll is on Left Alt, WorldLedger on H, shaders on F6, fullbright on '. Rarely used keys that clashed (MekaSuit modes, Essential extras, Curios, Ender IO staff and magnet, Apotheosis radial mining) start unbound; set them in Controls if you want them.
- Performance mods made for big packs: Entity Culling (skips mobs and block entities you cannot see), Clumps (joins XP orbs, a big help with mob farms), AllTheLeaks (fixes memory leaks) and FastSuite (faster recipe checks in machines and furnaces).
Fixed
- BlockByte Exchange and WorldLedger items can be crafted again. Their recipes did not load on 1.21.1, so the miners, cables, chips and the Ledger book had no recipe.
- The Ender IO quest that asked for a Primitive Alloy Smelter (that block no longer exists) now asks for a Void Chassis.
- Quest reward crates no longer hand out broken "missing item" rewards. Those slots now give Advanced Solar Generators.
- Shaders: the BSL settings that ship with the pack now match the BSL version that is installed.
- Faster and steadier start-up: Sinytra Connector and Forgified Fabric API are gone. No mod in the pack needs them any more, and Connector patched every mod at start-up.
- Two ModernFix options that are known to break mods in big packs are back to ModernFix's own defaults.
- The Village Standing bar only shows when it matters, so it no longer covers Jade's info box at the top of the screen.
- JEI's settings file is up to date for the new JEI (the old one made it log errors on every start).
Changed
- NeoForge 21.1.250 to 21.1.264.
- 69 mods updated to their newest version for 1.21.1, including Applied Energistics 2, Apotheosis, MineColonies, Sophisticated Backpacks and Storage, JEI, Waystones, Lootr, L_Ender's Cataclysm, Stellarity, FancyMenu, ModernFix and Essential.
- Immersive Portals is removed. Its 1.21.1 version is still unfinished and it warned that it does not work well with Twilight Forest, Better Trims and Collective. Nether and End portals work the normal way again.
- Reap Mod is removed: Actually Harvest already does right-click harvesting (with XP), and two harvest mods could both act on the same crop.
- The Aether's menu switcher button is gone from the title screen, so the new menu is always shown.
- The KubeJS web server is switched off.
- CB: Compressed Blocks stays on 1.7.2 on purpose: its newest version renames the compressed smooth quartz blocks and removes the crated campfires and maps, which would delete them from your worlds.
- Sodium stays on 0.6.13 on purpose, because the newest stable Iris Shaders needs it.
Updating from 0.7.4
- Back up your worlds first, as with any modpack update.
- Worlds from 0.7.4 keep working. Only Immersive Portals' own tools go away, and portals made with them stop working. Normal Nether and End portals are not affected.
- Memory: give the pack 8 GB (10 GB if you use shaders).
