This modpack aims to scratch the magic itch that so many have today. I plan on upkeeping this as best as possible and potentially adding things like quests or at least some progression in the future.
The primary goal is to try to fill the void that Ars Magica left when it stopped being developed. I have added Wizardry to accomplish this, as its spell system is complete. Electroblob's Wizardry is also present for simpler spells and more wizard-like world features.
The typical mods are in such as Thaumcraft, Bloodmagic, Embers, Astral Sorcery, etc.
I have also added some of the lesser known dungeon and structure generation mods to give the world a new mystical feeling. A well known mod: Ice and Fire is also present, adding ancient beasts to the world. You can tame these great beasts to guard your wizard tower! (dragons anyone?)
Note: Dynamic Lights does not save you from the darkness in the Beneath, as it is technically only clientside
Future Plans:
- The ongoing tweaking of config files
- Adding Bewitchment if/when it has more stable content
- Adding more items that will glow with Dynamic Lights
- Configuring the dungeon chests' loot (such as Ice and Fire hoards)
- Configuring dimensions and what can spawn in them
- Configuring crafting recipes to make more sense or be more balanced
- Adding proper achievements and progression (far future)
- Giving items Thaumcraft aspects (far future)
As usual, I always recommend 6GB RAM when running my modpacks (or any for that matter). The server pack runs with 6GB by default, change the StartServer.bat file to change this.
