Edge of the World is a Minecraft modpack heavily inspired by Terraria and a general love for those hack and slash dungeon games. The pack is built around Advent of Ascension, which supplies most of the bosses and dimensions for the pack.
In Edge of the World you are an adventurer, with the simple goal to defeat all the bosses in the pack, and to become a powerful adventurer. Level up with Advent of Ascension, swing around with your grappling hook and parkour with wall jumps through the deepest of dungeons. Supplement your adventure between bosses with Recurrent Complex. There are endless structures to explore all across the map, with bountiful loot and plenty of beasts. This modpack was made to essentially resemble a 3D Terraria, where you defeat bosses, complete events, and simply become as OP as possible.
Equipment
You can find and craft tons of equipment from Advent of Ascension.
There are a great deal of baubles added by BountifulBaubles and Trinkets and Baubles (some of which you might recognize).
Vanilla tools are replaced by Tinkers Construct tools, however this can be very quickly accessed via porcelain furnaces.
You can pan for gold in flowing rivers, and swing around areas with physically accurate grappling hooks.
Upgrade your inventory with backpacks to store extra loot during your adventures.
Progression and Character Building
Advent of Ascension adds an entire ability and skill system, allowing both passive and active skills with their own individual resource pools.
Level up your Tinkers tools to add more and more modifiers.
Level up your doggos with Doggy Talents and upgrade their abilities.
You can both wall jump and double jump, simply for its convenience and arcade-style movement.
Build various levels of storage for your base with MultiStorage and Iron Chests.
As mentioned above, there is a great deal of gear progression added by Advent of Ascension as well as Tinkers Construct.
Exploration
Your world is structured such that you can enter dimensions by digging far enough or building high enough. The dimensions from highest to lowest are Lunalus>The Haven>The Overworld>The Deeplands>Crystevia>The Nether. All other dimensions you will have to build portals for.
When creating a world remember to use OTG FarFromHome_BOP world type for the coolest world gen. You can find extra biomes both above and below ground with Biomes O' Plenty and Underground Biomes.
You can find tons of dungeons added by Recurrent Complex, as well as boss dungeons from Lycanites Mobs, or Advent of Ascension.
If it gets dark while adventuring, use sleeping bags from Comforts to skip the night without setting your spawn. Make waypoints between points of interest using Signpost, allowing balanced and RPG-like teleportation.
Technical Info
You can run this pack at 4GB (surprisingly) as an absolute minimum, however I always recommend the standard 6GB to run it well. (You will need more RAM if using shaders of course)
I have "tested" this modpack with Optifine and shaders, it runs and I haven't yet noticed any problems. I'm hesitant to say it's supported, but it won't crash you or anything, so use at your own risk. Feel free to report Optifine crashes, but I can't say there will be anything I can do.
This modpack isn't intended to be gigantic, so I aim for minimal mod overlaps with maximum user experience. If you find any problems or odd conflicts, please post those here so I can get to fixing them.
For server moderators: If a version does not have a server file, you can assume that the most recent version of the server still works. By default servers are configured to use 12GB RAM and the correct level type. If you run into server issues, please post them, as multiplayer is very important to me.
Known Issues
-Lycanites Mobs causes a strange crash on startup which is very inconsistent. Just restarting your game a couple times makes the crash go away, but it can be annoying.
-Main menu background looks a little finicky, this is my own fault and I'll be updating it sometime soon to look better
