Official Boxhead Universe
Official Boxhead Universe is the complete ready-to-play distribution of Boxhead Universe: Outbreak Protocol, a round-based survival experience built with the DAI Engine.
This official pack combines the entire Boxhead setup into one installation:
- DAI Engine
- Boxhead Universe Data Pack
- Boxhead Universe Resource Pack
Built for Minecraft 26.2 with NeoForge, it includes both the full gameplay systems and the custom visual presentation required for the intended Boxhead Universe experience.
Install the pack, choose your battlefield, configure your survivor, and enter the outbreak.
Survive the Outbreak
Boxhead Universe transforms Minecraft into an arcade-inspired survival game built around escalating waves, custom firearms, persistent survivor progression, map expansion, equipment management, environmental defenses, and increasingly dangerous infected.
Every movement, shot, reload, purchase, equipment use, and survival decision remains under your control.
DAI provides the game running around you.
You provide the survivor.
Five Complete Battlegrounds
Deploy into five distinct survival maps:
- Box Town
- Boxlaska
- Sky Scraper
- The Space
- Village Box
Each battlefield begins with an initial combat area and can expand through three additional unlockable zones.
Opening new areas changes more than the size of the map.
Additional zones can reveal:
- New infected spawn lanes
- Weapon stations
- Ammunition access
- Perk machines
- Environmental traps
- BLACK GLASS clues
- New defensive positions
- More room to maneuver
How quickly you expand the battlefield becomes part of the survival strategy.
Three Survival Rulesets
Every Boxhead map can be combined with one of three different death systems.
Casual Paradise
A more forgiving Boxhead experience.
Inventory is preserved when you die, allowing you to spectate and manually return to the fight.
Infinite Dead
Built for continuing survival campaigns.
Death temporarily removes a survivor and costs part of their current run money.
Survivors return with later waves, while a full team wipe resets the failed wave instead of permanently ending the match.
Last Breath
The high-stakes ruleset.
Death is final for the current run.
When the surviving team is gone:
the outbreak wins.
Endless Escalating Waves
There is no ordinary final wave.
Boxhead's wave director continually increases enemy pressure as the match progresses.
Fight multiple infected archetypes including:
- Zombie
- Mangled
- Mutant
- Giant
Different enemies create different levels of battlefield pressure, while Giants become major threats to both players and defenses.
Boxlaska also features its own cold-weather infected presentation designed specifically for its frozen environment.
The goal is simple:
survive longer.
Eight Custom Firearms
Boxhead Universe includes a complete custom weapon roster:
- Service Pistol
- Hand Cannon
- Vanguard Carbine
- Pump Shotgun
- Vector SMG
- Bulwark LMG
- Longwatch Rifle
- Arc Caster
Weapons use their own:
- Damage profiles
- Projectile behavior
- Fire rates
- Ammunition types
- Magazine capacities
- Reload systems
- Custom models
- Firing presentation
Automatic weapons support continuous held-input fire, while bullets travel along the direction captured when you pull the trigger.
No target-seeking bullets.
No automated aim.
You make the shot.
Real Magazine and Reserve Ammo
Boxhead firearms do not simply consume ammunition directly from your inventory.
Weapons maintain their own loaded magazines or chambers.
Fire until the weapon runs dry, then reload using your reserve ammunition.
Different weapon classes use different ammunition supplies, making ammunition management increasingly important during long survival runs.
Headshots Matter
Precision shooting is directly connected to Boxhead's combat economy.
Projectile impacts can register against an infected's head area, allowing headshots to provide larger rewards than ordinary kills.
Better shooting means faster access to the equipment, zones, perks, and defenses you need to stay alive.
Physical Weapon Stations
Boxhead equipment is integrated directly into the maps.
Custom 3D wall-buy stations allow survivors to:
- Purchase weapons
- Equip available firearms
- Buy additional ammunition
- Resupply during active rounds
Different weapons appear throughout different portions of the battlefield, giving map expansion a direct relationship with your available arsenal.
More Than Guns
Survivors can also carry dedicated equipment across several combat roles.
Tactical
- Stun Grenade
- Shock Charge
Lethal
- Fragmentation Grenade
- Incendiary Grenade
Special
- Field Kit
- Overdrive Injector
Melee
Thrown equipment follows physical trajectories through the battlefield instead of simply activating at the player's feet.
Infected can also occasionally drop useful equipment during combat.
Five Survivor Loadouts
Every player can configure five separate loadout profiles before deployment.
Build profiles around different combinations of:
- Primary weapons
- Secondary weapons
- Tactical equipment
- Lethal equipment
- Special equipment
- Melee weapons
Select an active profile and Boxhead deploys that configuration when you enter the outbreak.
Your survivor does not need to play every match the same way.
Persistent Armory Progression
Boxhead Universe includes progression beyond individual survival runs.
Combat earnings contribute toward permanent Armory Credits.
These Credits can unlock additional weapons and equipment for use in your survivor loadouts.
Your:
- Armory Credits
- Equipment unlocks
- Five loadout profiles
- Active profile
are stored as persistent player progression.
Run money disappears with the run.
Your survivor development does not.
Perk Machines
Physical perk machines can be discovered throughout the expanded maps.
Available upgrades include:
- Ironheart Tonic
- Quick Hands
- Focus Cola
- Sprint Serum
- Scavenger Soda
Perks can improve survivability, weapon handling, damage, movement, and ammunition recovery.
They are purchased during the active match and lost when you die.
Every perk is therefore an investment in your current life.
Environmental Traps
The battlefield itself can become a weapon.
Expanded map areas contain purchasable:
- Electric traps
- Fire traps
- Crusher traps
Activate them during a wave to damage infected caught inside their kill zones.
The longer a run continues, the more important positioning and environmental control become.
Barricade Defense
The infected can attack more than players.
Barricades throughout the arenas can be damaged, repaired, and reinforced during the match.
Giants are particularly destructive and can tear through neglected defensive positions much faster than ordinary infected.
Holding a location means maintaining it.
BLACK GLASS
Each battlefield contains its own hidden three-stage BLACK GLASS investigation.
Expand the map and search the environment for unusual objects and clues.
Complete the investigation sequence to uncover more of the outbreak and gain additional progression, including access to the powerful Arc Caster.
Boxhead Universe is not only about surviving another round.
There is something behind the outbreak.
A Complete Boxhead Interface
The official pack includes Boxhead's complete visual and interface presentation.
This includes:
- Dedicated Boxhead title screen
- Match selection
- Map and mode selection
- Armory interface
- Loadout management
- Custom loading presentation
- Outbreak intro cinematic
- Boxhead pause interface
- Custom combat HUD
- Custom hotbar presentation
- Survivor information
- Weapon and equipment displays
The Boxhead identity begins before the match loads and continues throughout the entire experience.
Custom Models and Visuals
Because the official modpack includes the companion Resource Pack, the experience ships with the intended Boxhead visual layer.
Custom assets include:
- Infected
- Winter infected variants
- Firearms
- Weapon firing states
- Ammunition
- Grenades
- Tactical equipment
- Special equipment
- Combat Knife
- Projectiles
- Wall-buy stations
- Perk machines
- Armory terminals
- Zone terminals
- Interface assets
- Title environments
The result is a battlefield that looks like Boxhead rather than Minecraft with renamed items.
Multiplayer Survivor Progression
Boxhead Universe is built for multiplayer without forcing everyone to share one character.
Each player maintains their own:
- Armory progression
- Equipment unlocks
- Loadout profiles
- Active survivor configuration
- Deployment state
Joining players receive their own selected equipment rather than inheriting another player's build.
Players entering an already-active match also do not rebuild the entire battlefield simply by joining.
The outbreak is shared.
Your survivor is yours.
The Official Complete Package
Official Boxhead Universe exists for players who want the intended experience without manually installing and matching the individual components.
The modpack includes the required DAI Engine, Boxhead Universe Data Pack, and Boxhead Universe Resource Pack together in one installation.
No separate assembly is necessary.
Choose your map.
Build your loadout.
Open the battlefield.
Spend carefully.
Aim for the head.
Survive the outbreak.
The dead never stop.
