Description
Minecraft or Not (MON) is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack focused on modern SWAT operations, close-quarters combat, tactical law enforcement, and mission-based gameplay.
Inspired by tactical shooters such as Ready or Not, MON puts players in the role of a SWAT team responding to high-risk incidents involving armed suspects, civilians, hostages, evidence, and complex indoor environments.
MON is not simply a collection of guns and hostile NPCs.
A large part of the modpack has been customized around a complete tactical mission loop, where your decisions and use of force directly affect the final result.
Main Features
Tactical Missions
Play multiple missions with unique locations, situations, objectives, suspect setups, and story backgrounds.
Use the tactical mission interface to review the operation time, location, situation, briefing, suspect information, and your previous best rating.
Scoring & Rules of Engagement
MON rewards players for controlling the situation instead of simply eliminating every threat.
Arresting suspects, protecting civilians, collecting evidence, and completing objectives can improve your score.
Friendly fire, civilian casualties, killing surrendered suspects, and excessive use of force will reduce it.
Achieving the highest mission rating requires careful decision-making.
Less-Lethal Equipment
Alongside conventional firearms, MON includes and integrates multiple less-lethal tools such as:
Beanbag shotguns, less-lethal carbines, tasers, flashbangs, multi-flash grenades, tactical shields, door wedges, and other specialized equipment.
Choosing the right tool for the situation is often more important than raw firepower.
CQB Door Interaction
Doors have been redesigned around close-quarters combat.
Players can open or kick doors, use door wedges, pick locks, inspect rooms with tactical tools, and perform other specialized interactions.
Doors are no longer just normal Minecraft blocks — they are part of the tactical gameplay.
Suspects & Combat
CustomNPCs and custom scripting are used to create suspects designed specifically for tactical missions.
Different missions feature different equipment, behavior, and levels of resistance.
Some suspects may patrol, defend doorways, react aggressively to approaching officers, or use tactical equipment such as flashbangs.
Enhanced Gunplay
MON contains extensive TaCZ-related improvements designed to make firearms fit naturally into the tactical gameplay.
Features include variable zoom optics, scope magnification improvements, weapon handling adjustments, magazine checking animations, lasers and weapon lights, suppression effects, near-miss feedback, and many additional details.
The goal is not simply to add more weapons, but to improve how they feel and function during an operation.
Downed & Rescue System
Taking fatal damage may place a player into a downed state instead of immediately removing them from the mission.
Teammates can drag wounded officers and perform medical treatment.
If the entire team becomes incapacitated, the mission may fail.
This makes every casualty important to the whole squad.
Tactical Immersion
MON also includes many additional systems built to improve immersion, including:
SWAT voice commands, subtitles, spectator and mission-failure systems, evidence collection, mission ratings, historical scores, loadout selection, tactical phone interfaces, night-vision animations, and custom HUD elements.
Together, these systems form the complete MON tactical experience.
How It Plays
Before an operation, review the mission information and prepare your weapons, armor, grenades, and tactical equipment.
Once inside, search the area, identify threats, control suspects, protect civilians, and secure evidence.
Pulling the trigger is always an option — but it is not always the best one.
Your actions determine your final mission rating.
Control the situation. Don't create more chaos.
