Welcome to Mesozoa — a world filled with wonderous nature and magic!
Mesozoa is a prehistoric survival and exploration modpack inspired by the lost worlds of the Mesozoic and other ancient times, the strange ecosystems of deep time, and a darker fantasy world. Survive, tame and esplore prehistoric creatures from top tier paleo mods like F&A Revival, Drag's Deadly Dinos Reconstructed, and others!
Explore vast, untamed landscapes filled with dinosaurs, prehistoric reptiles, ancient birds, and other creatures. Build your home among living fossils, venture into dangerous wilderness, and discover the remnants of civilisations that existed long before you arrived.
But Mesozoa is more than dinosaurs.
Something is wrong with the world.
Ancient powers stir beneath the earth. Strange creatures lurk beyond the safety of civilisation. Corruption spreads through places that should be untouched.

This isn't a peaceful dinosaur park. Predators hunt. The environment is dangerous. Resources must be managed, and venturing too far from safety can have consequences.
Build, explore, hunt, tame, investigate, and survive in a world where humanity is only one small part of a much larger ecosystem.
The dinosaurs survived.
The question is whether you will.

Beginning Survival Guide
First, it's a good idea to do a quick preload of your world. When creating your world, press the star (Genesis mod) in the top right corner of the world creation screen. When you are satified with your world seed, go ahead an pregenerate. If you don't plan on exploring too far to begin, you can lower the chunk radius down to around 20-40 to save you some time.
Once generation is complete, enter your world and it should be much smoother generation!
Step 1: Find Resources
All over the ground are random twigs, rocks, and bones to get you started. Some are right click to ick up, others are destroy. You CANNOT break trees without an axe or hatchet.
Step 2: Craft a Hatchet
Once you have those materials, you can craft either cobblestone or use a rock to craft a hatchet to chop trees. (recipe is the same for cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, and rock).
Step 3: Campfire
Use the things you have gathered to build a campfire, which will protect you from the cold, cook for you, and give you regeneration. Easier recipe without charcoal!
But wait! The campfire isn't lit! Good thing fire is much easier to make in survival with just two sticks! (Careful, fire is much more dangerous in this pack).
Step 4: Bed
Beds are an essential part of Minecraft. In this pack, wool is a little harder to come by without sheep. You can craft wool and/or a bed by sheering mammoths, Elasmotherium, or even goats!
By then, you should be good for survival! Watch out for the night, there's something out there...
