KidZ 5 - Create and Dragons
KidZ 5 - Create and Dragons is a family-friendly questing modpack where kids and parents build a colony, learn Create automation, explore dungeons, face dragons, cook real meals, decorate cozy homes, and progress from simple survival to advanced technology and space.
Build a cozy colony. Learn Create machines step by step. Explore dungeons. Cook real meals. Decorate your base. Craft better tools. Face dragons and bosses. Then move into advanced technology, digital storage, reactors, and eventually space.
This is not a hardcore expert pack. It is also not a free creative sandbox. Progression matters, tools matter, quests matter, and machines matter — but the pack is designed to be readable, fair, and playable together.
What kind of pack is this?
KidZ 5 is a guided family adventure with three main phases:
1. Cozy survival and colony building
Start small, gather basic resources, build a safe home, discover the questbook, and begin your colony.
2. Create machines and dragon adventure
Use Create-style engineering to automate materials, build workshops, improve your tools, explore dangerous places, and prepare for stronger enemies.
3. Advanced technology and space
Move into larger machines, power systems, digital storage, better gear, bosses, reactors, and late-game space progression.
The goal is simple:
Start as a small family settlement. Grow into a powerful engineering colony. End as a space-age expedition.
Designed for kids and parents
KidZ 5 is made for shared play.
Parents can build, organize storage, manage the colony, and help with machines.
Kids can explore, collect food, decorate, discover quests, fight monsters, and help the colony grow.
The pack is intended to be:
- guided, but not restrictive
- adventurous, but not cruel
- playful, but not childish
- challenging, but not punishing
- good for small family servers
- readable for players who do not already know every mod
Main features
Quest-guided progression
FTB Quests gives the pack a clear path. You are not dropped into hundreds of mods with no idea what to do.
The questbook introduces mechanics gradually:
- survival basics
- colony setup
- tool progression
- food and farming
- Create machines
- exploration
- storage
- power
- advanced technology
- bosses
- space
Create engineering
Create is one of the central pillars of the pack. Expect cogwheels, belts, shafts, mixers, presses, mechanical arms, trains, and factories.
Create is not just decoration here. It is part of progression.
Colonies and settlement growth
Build a real working settlement with MineColonies-style progression. Your base should feel alive: builders, farms, storage, roads, decorations, houses, and production areas.
Dragons, bosses, dungeons and exploration
The world contains adventure content, dangerous structures, bosses, and fantasy threats. The goal is excitement, not constant punishment.
You should prepare, gear up, and explore together.
Food, farming and cozy decoration
Food and decoration are not filler. The pack includes crops, meals, kitchens, furniture, cozy building blocks, storage options, and visual polish to make bases feel warm and lived-in.
Tools and progression
Tools and materials matter. Silent Gear is used to make equipment progression more meaningful, with mining tiers and material upgrades integrated into the pack’s progression.
Advanced machines and storage
Later progression moves into Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2, reactors, digital storage, power networks, and advanced automation.
Space as a late-game goal
Space is not the first thing you do. It is the long-term expedition goal after your colony, machines, tools, and technology have grown enough.

Performance

- For servers: depends on player count, view distance, pregeneration, and colony size
The pack includes performance and quality-of-life mods, but it is still a large modded experience. Lower-end machines may need reduced render distance and shaders disabled.
Multiplayer and servers
KidZ 5 is designed to work well on small family servers.
Server play is recommended if you want a shared colony, shared machines, shared exploration, and long-term progression together.
A server pack is planned/available for supported releases.
Roadmap
Planned progression focus:
- Chapter 1: Arrival, shelter, first tools, first food
- Chapter 2: Colony start and early settlement growth

The pack will grow through meaningful updates, not tiny fake update bumps.
Known notes
KidZ 5 is built as a genuine progression pack. Some recipes, tools, ores, rewards, dimensions, and machines may differ from their default mod behavior.
If something feels too easy, too punishing, confusing, or broken, report it in the comments or issue tracker.
Legacy
KidZ 5 is the modern successor to the previous KidZ packs. It keeps the original idea — a modpack for kids and parents — but rebuilds it with a stronger identity, newer Minecraft version, better quests, better progression, and a more polished experience.
