0.1.2 — Food is edible again, plus quality of life

If you have been playing 0.1.x, this one matters. Every food this pack adds itself was silently inedible, and a lot of other TerraFirmaCraft data quietly never applied. It is all fixed. No mods were removed and no world content changed — update your instance and keep playing your world.

🍎 Fixed: the pack's own food was inedible

A player reported that Radish could not be eaten. It turned out that all 74 foods this pack adds were affected — cucumber, peanut, lentil, cassava and the rest. TerraFirmaCraft's own foods worked fine, which is why it looked like a single broken item.

A helper that checks "does this item exist?" was throwing an error on every call and swallowing it, so the pack concluded that none of its own items existed and skipped their food data entirely. Nothing appeared in any log. Along with the food itself, this had been silently dropping:

  • Fruit juices and smoothies — the recipes were never registered.
  • Refrigerant chemistry — the GregTech reactions for acetylene, chlorodifluoromethane and tetrafluoroethane, needed for refrigerators.
  • Item sizes for the pack's foods, so they didn't take the right amount of space in containers.

🔥 Fixed: nutrition, heat and crop climate were all zero

A second problem sat underneath the first: the pack was writing TerraFirmaCraft data using the wrong field names, and unknown fields are ignored without any warning. Everything affected was quietly zeroed out:

  • Food nutrition — foods now actually restore hunger, saturation and nutrients instead of nothing.
  • Heat capacity — items registered by the pack, including GregTech materials, could not be heated properly in TFC devices.
  • Crop climate ranges — the pack's crops had zeroed temperature and hydration ranges.
  • Lamp fuel burn rates, and drinks — drinks now quench thirst and apply their effects again.

✨ Added

  • Inventory Profiles Next (with its library, libIPN) — sort buttons in your inventory, chests, drawers and backpacks. Sort in rows, in columns, or plain, and the sorting order is configurable. It ships with built-in support for the containers this pack uses — Sophisticated Backpacks, Create, TFC and AE2 — so the buttons land where they should.
  • Shoulder Surfing Reloaded — a GTA-style third person camera. Hit F5 and the camera sits behind your right shoulder and slightly above, instead of dead centre, with the crosshair corrected so you still hit what you aim at. Camera side, height and distance are adjustable in the mod's config screen (Mods → Shoulder Surfing Reloaded → Config).

All three are client-side only — they change nothing on servers and are not in the server files, so a 0.1.1 client and a 0.1.2 client can still share a server.

🖥️ Server owners: update the server too

The food fix lives on the server. All the food, nutrition and heat data above is server-side, so updating only your client changes nothing — your food stays inedible until the server runs 0.1.2 as well. Grab the server files from the GitHub release and replace kubejs/ on the server.

Existing worlds are fine — nothing about world generation or saved data changed.

📋 Notes

  • Two drinks, muddy water and semiheavy ammoniacal water, are still skipped: those fluids do not exist in this build yet. They are on the list.
  • Both Inventory Profiles Next and the pack's existing Mouse Tweaks can move items with the mouse wheel. If the wheel ever moves items twice as fast as you expect, turn off Item Scrolling in Inventory Profiles Next, or the wheel tweak in Mouse Tweaks — whichever you prefer.
