Cog & Capture
Cog & Capture combines Pokémon exploration and adventure with the engineering, automation, and creativity of Create.
Explore a world filled with Pokémon, build your team, hunt for valuable resources, construct mechanical factories, automate production, prepare meals, and eventually develop advanced storage and logistics systems.
The goal of Cog & Capture is to make Pixelmon and Create feel like parts of the same world, rather than two unrelated mods installed together.
Pokémon Meets Engineering
Pixelmon changes many of Minecraft's traditional progression paths. Instead of simply restoring everything that disappears with vanilla mobs, Cog & Capture introduces alternative ways to progress that fit naturally into a Pokémon-focused world.
For example, certain Steel, mechanical, and Nether-themed Pokémon can provide Brass Nuggets, giving players a way to begin Create's brass progression through exploration and battling.
Once your Create infrastructure develops, traditional automation becomes the more efficient way to manufacture resources.
Explore for What You Need
Exploration remains an important part of the pack.
Evolution stones and other important Pixelmon resources aren't intended to become trivial factory products. Finding new biomes, Pokémon, resources, and locations should continue to matter even after you've constructed a large factory.
Your Pokémon adventure fuels your industrial progression—and your growing technology helps support your adventure.
Build and Automate
Create forms the heart of the pack's engineering system.
Build mechanical workshops and factories using gears, belts, shafts, water wheels, wind power, steam power, processing machines, trains, and automation.
Additional Create content expands the possibilities while keeping Create's mechanical engineering at the center of the experience.
Advanced Storage
Applied Energistics 2 provides powerful storage and logistics for players who progress beyond ordinary chests and warehouses.
Combined with Create and its electrical integrations, your mechanical infrastructure can eventually support increasingly sophisticated automated storage and production systems.
Food in a Pokémon World
With traditional Minecraft livestock less prominent, Cog & Capture adapts cooking to the Pixelmon world.
Farmer's Delight expands farming and cooking, while custom compatibility allows several common Pixelmon berries to function as culinary egg substitutes in recipes such as cakes and prepared meals.
Instead of bringing chickens back simply because a recipe needs an egg, the Pokémon world provides an alternative.
Renewable Resources
Selected resources from Pixelmon and Create can be produced through renewable resource systems, allowing established players to automate common industrial materials without eliminating the need to explore for special Pokémon resources.
Designed for Multiplayer
Cog & Capture is being developed around a multiplayer survival server, with progression and compatibility tested during actual play.
The pack focuses on:
- Pixelmon exploration and battling
- Create engineering and automation
- Applied Energistics 2 storage and logistics
- Expanded cooking and farming
- Renewable industrial resources
- Custom Pixelmon × Create compatibility
- Multiplayer-friendly progression
- A reason to keep exploring even after your factory grows
The Idea Behind Cog & Capture
Explore. Battle. Discover. Build. Automate. Evolve.
Start as a trainer exploring a Pokémon-filled world.
Come home as an engineer with a backpack full of resources.
Then build something ridiculous with them.
And this is the version I'd submit to CurseForge. It explains the custom work we've already done without claiming features we haven't actually implemented yet.
