Cog & Capture: Pixelmon XP Bridge
Pixelmon replaces much of Minecraft's traditional mob combat, which can leave players with fewer opportunities to earn normal Minecraft experience for enchanting and other XP-based mechanics.
Pixelmon XP Bridge connects those two progression systems.
Defeating Pokémon now rewards the player with Minecraft experience while leaving Pixelmon's own Pokémon experience system untouched.
Current XP Rewards
- Wild Pokémon: 5 Minecraft XP per defeated Pokémon
- NPC Trainer Pokémon: increased Minecraft XP rewards
- Player vs. Player battles: no additional Minecraft XP
- Pokémon continue gaining their normal Pixelmon experience
- Mining, smelting, and other Minecraft XP sources are unchanged
The goal is to recreate the role that hostile mob combat normally plays in Minecraft progression without changing how Pixelmon itself is meant to be played.
Server-Side
Pixelmon XP Bridge is designed to run server-side only. Players do not need to install the mod on their clients.
Cog & Capture
Originally developed for the Cog & Capture modpack, where Pixelmon exploration and battling are integrated with Minecraft's building, automation, enchanting, and survival progression.
Currently considered an early compatibility release while XP balance is tested through normal multiplayer gameplay.
