SETUP & INSTALLATION
- FORGE:
- The latest version of Forge for 1.12.2 should work, but in the case it breaks an older mod in this modpack, the version I have currently packaged with the modpack is forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2847-universal.jar
- PARAMETERS:
- I Recommend allocating 4GB's of RAM. You can do this by going to Launch Options, enabling JVM Arguments, and changing "-Xmx1G" to "-Xmx4G". My JVM Arguments looks like this:
-Xmx4G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M
Key Features;
- More that 200 Quests to complete that guide you through the pack.
- The quests have been created in a way that both allows for linear gameplay but also allows for those who want to do their own thing.
- 1000's of custom recipes, 100's of new villager trades and loads of custom content
- Castellan contains 1000's of edits to make everything seems like one coherent and well jelled pack
- Keeps To The Vanilla Feels
- 3x3 mining and shoveling tools, hundreds of enchants and potions, new enchant mechanics based around lunar cycles
- Become a Wizard
- Grapple with magic and become a master wizard. Wizardry, blood magic and evil craft will have you flying, zapping and all sorts of magical shenanigan's in no time.
- Semi-realism and added difficulty
- Lots of blocks now have gravity, torches burn out, you can no longer move water sources, the Furnace is no more and has been replaced with several immersive machines. Stonetype blocks now drop rocks that must be crafted into cobblestone, armor now has weight and the heavier ones will increase your temperature and reduce your speed.
- Farming, agriculture and genetics
- Stacks of new crops and new farming mechanics. Even more animals to breed including some very rare Pegasi. In depth cheese and alcohol production and a more immersive food system, not all crops will grow all year round, plan your food wisely or die of starvation in the winter
- Survival with a more real feel
- Temperature has been added, but in a way that its easy to die from exposure in cold but not so easy to die from heat, unless you are wearing armor in the desert! Water and drinking is very important, food will rot!
- All New Weapons & Tools, Mobs and combat mechanics
- Fire arms, Samurai armor, sharks, swamp hags what more could you want. Vanilla mobs are considerably more powerful, Endermen are now pack hunters, creepers have been at the potions of swiftness, zombies and skeletons can now both not only spawn as mounted cavalry but may spawn as a rare mini boss, if that wasn't enough zombies now have AI where they will trample your crops, smash your lights and break down your wooden doors and blocks.
Hostile Invasions!
Every 5 nights monsters will try and dig into your base to try and kill you with completely customized invasions
All glued together by Better with mods & Primal core
All of Castellan has been integrated and glued together using Better With Mods and Primal Core as a base, there have been countless recipe edits made in Castellan more to fit a theme and give Castellan a glued and well made feel rather than simply editing a recipe just to make it expert, as a result recipes are different and complicated in some cases but there should be no grind (at least from me) just for the sake of it
EXTRA MODS, RESOURCE PACKS & TEH SHADERS
The resource pack that this pack is based around is Battered Old Stuff from Ozbillo
the shader used in the pictures is BSL Shaders from Capttatsu
I highly recommend Optifine
TIPS & STARTING HINTS
CHOOSE YOUR BIOME WISELY
With added temperature and thirst mechanics choosing your starting biome wisely is the key to a good game, with Serene Seasons installed sooner or later you will find yourself need deep in snow, but its better to start somewhere a lot warmer, equally although you wont die starting in a desert the lack of water and decent building resources means you will be in for a tough time early to mid game.
Gravel, clay, water and plenty of wood are all pretty vital to progression so an ideal place to start is riverside in a warm biome
Recommended minimum allocated RAM: 4 GB

REPORTS / KNOWN BUGS & ISSUES
-
the Betweenlands uses its own shader so if you are having crashes and have your own shader installed change this in the config
-
on line288 B:use_shader=truechange it to false
