Description
This modpack builds on my Realism modpack, which itself built on my Tweaks modpack. See those pages for more details about the other aspects of this pack, including Vanilla+ mods from Tweaks, and Vanilla++ mods from Realism.
This pack, unlike those previous packs, aims to alter the vanilla mechanics much more significantly, and will add more blocks and tools to the game. Worry not, however, as I've included a handy Patchouli guide that will cover all of the basics to get you started.
The core changes to the gameplay itself come mostly from Tough as Nails. But, the most important mod here, imo, is Open Your Eye. It makes crafting Eyes of Ender MUCH more difficult. Now you'll have to face the Wither and the Warden before you can locate a Stronghold to reach the End.
Along your way something you will notice very quickly, is the complete lack of villages... Or villagers. Neither will spawn naturally, though the Wandering Trader is still around, and you can still get villagers by other means...
I've also included Balanced Vanilla, which adds Copper Tools, and makes Iron only minable with Copper tools and up, making early game progression take a bit longer. And Reinforced Chests will help stop your food from Spoiling in the late game. Also, through a combination of Totally Lit, Torch Hit, and Firestarter, I've completely revamped how starting fires and lighting your home works.

Getting the most out of this modpack:
Recommended:
I highly recommend going here to download the Patrix Add-On, and here to download the Patrix Models. Place both of these in the resourcepack folder before you start up the pack for the first time, and they should even be auto-loaded (DO NOT use the install button, download the files and place them in the folder. Installing will override the Patrix basic pack and your game textures will be broken.)
You should also go to the Haubna Patreon page for Physics Mod Pro. Unfortunately, the Hysteria shader isn't compatible with Water Physics, so I've disabled that. Drop the mod into your mods folder, and make sure to remove the other physics mod file!
Minecraft Setup:
Make sure you have Java set up properly for Minecraft in the CurseForge launcher. Give it as much RAM as you can spare, and under additional arguments, you should have:
-XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M
Extras:
For extra realism, try setting your character's height to match your real-world height!
Use "/attribute @s generic.scale base set " followed by a scaling value that is your Height in Meters divided by two. I'm 5'8", so my scaling value was ~0.8785.
If you have a real super beefy computer, consider trying the Rethinking Voxels or Photon shaders, both look amazing and are compatible with Distant Horizons... But, with all these other mods, performance isn't great.
Dev Log:
Future Updates:
- Currently playtesting, trying to con some friends into doing some multiplayer playtesting. Any suggestions are very much welcome, though may be ignored if they don't fit what I'm trying to do. ;)
Project State:
Likely Unsolvable Issues:
- Basically anything added to the game stands out as being very low quality, visually speaking, compared to the incredible Patrix textures.
(Note: I chose not to include the issues from the Realism modpack, though they do persist here.)
