Ares is a Vanilla+ combat-focused modpack built for players who want more from Minecraft's combat system and enjoy a good soulslike. Every aspect from movement to progression has been reworked to challenge you, reward you, and push you toward the ultimate goal of achieving godhood..

Ares isn’t just a difficulty modpack. Ares transforms core combat into a cordination heavy system for example:

Stamina-Based Movement: Sprinting, dodging, and even attacking uses stamina soulslike style. Manage it carefully or be punished in combat.

Fluid Mobility: Speed up by tilting your camera, pull off wall jumps, cling to ledges, and even bhop. The movement system was made way more satisfying.

Reworked Combat: Based on Better Combat but completely configured to be more loyal to a Soulslike style, timing heavy combat. You’ll need to carefully manage your stamina to avoid getting caught off guard.

Progressive Bosses: Face off against bosses that get harder as you defeat them over and over again thanks to the Progressive Bosses mod.

Smarter Mobs: Enemies react to sound, work together in groups, and are far deadlier than their vanilla counterparts.

Armor progression has been completely rebuilt, introducing three new armor sets and rebalancing the vanilla ones.

Added 100+ new enchantments allowing for better customization of your loadout and unique gear combinations to suit a lotta builds.

Accessories can only be crafted via exploration, making it more rewarding to wander the world of Ares.

Tools and weapons now have rarity tiers (Common → Mythic) with unique affixes. Reroll your gear using Limestone, Pyrite, and Galena to minmax your build.

Ares is a vanilla+ experience. However, you can’t just hide in a base and wait things out, progression requires exploration and preparation. Explore the new dungeons, fight Eldritch mobs, and take on rare, enhanced enemies. Defeating them is made harder due to their modified stats and unique attributes but doing so rewards you with greater loot.
