Zora's Additions
Vanilla-style survival additions that only the server needs. Your players join with a normal, unmodded Minecraft client: no mods, no resource pack, nothing to install. New enchantments, three kinds of moon nights, backpacks, waypoints, a shared enchantment library, 78 achievements and many small quality-of-life touches, all in the look and feel of vanilla.
Install the same jar on your own NeoForge client as well, and you get optional extras like a Chest Finder and a Light Overlay. Everything is in English and German, and every player gets the messages in their own game language, even on a vanilla client.
New enchantments
All enchantments are data-driven, so vanilla clients see them like any other enchantment.
- Telekinesis (pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes): drops and experience of mined blocks and melee kills go straight into your inventory.
- Smelting Touch (pickaxes): ores drop their smelted form, raw iron becomes iron ingots.
- Soulbound (any enchantable item): the item stays with you when you die. Works with keepInventory and grave datapacks.
- Lifesteal I–II (swords): melee hits heal you for part of the damage.
- Vitality I–III (chestplates): one extra heart of maximum health per level.
- Scholar I–III (swords, axes): mobs drop 25% more experience per level.
- Lava Walker I–II (boots): lava under your feet hardens into obsidian for a few seconds, like Frost Walker does with water.
- Swift Swim (leggings): swimming gives you Dolphin's Grace.
- Lava Swimmer I–III (leggings): swim in lava without burning, 5 seconds per level. The time refills outside the lava.
- Beheading I–III (swords, axes): kills can drop the victim's head, players included, with their skin.
- Necromancer's Touch (pickaxes, rare): mine a monster spawner and take it with you, monster and all.
- Fortune, Unbreaking and Feather Falling V: combine two level IV books in the anvil. The enchanting table stays at the vanilla levels; villagers and loot go up to IV.
- Mending and Infinity can go on the same bow.
Quick Mending
Sneak and right-click with a damaged Mending item to repair it with the experience you already have, at Mending's own rate. It only takes the points it needs.
Better anvil, grindstone and enchanting
- Anvil: never "Too Expensive!", renaming costs 1 level, and the prior work penalty stops growing.
- Grindstone disenchanting: put an enchanted item on top and a book below to get an enchanted book. You can also split a book with several enchantments, one enchantment at a time.
- The Enchanter: sneak and right-click an enchanting table with an empty hand to open a shared enchantment library. Deposit your books, then take out exactly the enchantment and level you need, or apply it straight to an item. Two level III books make a level IV. The library stays in the table, even when you break and move it.
Farming, travel and getting around
- Replant Harvest: right-click a ripe crop to harvest and replant it. Sneak + right-click harvests the whole field as a wave. Sugar cane, nether wart and cocoa work too.
- Lodestone waypoints: name a lodestone with a name tag, discover it, and travel between your waypoints for a few levels. Friends in your boat and animals on your lead come along.
- Backpacks: right-click the air with a shulker box to open it right from your hand.
- Double doors: both doors of a double door open together, by hand, with redstone and for villagers.
- Sitting: right-click a stair or a slab with an empty hand to sit down.
Moon Events
On random nights (or on fixed days, if you prefer), one of three moons rises. A warning comes at sunset.
- Blood Moon: more and stronger monsters, no creepers, extra loot and double experience. You can't sleep, and the monsters vanish in a puff of smoke at dawn. Survive until morning!
- Holy Moon: no monsters spawn naturally, and everyone under the open sky gets Regeneration.
- Harvest Moon: crops near players grow twice as fast, and harvests drop more.
Every night starts with a title, a sound and a short atmospheric line, and a boss bar shows how much of the night is left.
78 achievements and titles
78 extra advancements in 7 tabs: Miner, Farmer, Fighter, Explorer, Server Life, Funny (hidden) and Hard. Vanilla clients show them like normal advancements, with toasts and chat messages. /progress shows how close you are to the statistic goals, and /titles lets you wear any achievement you earned as a title next to your name in the tab list.
Small server helpers
- Death coordinates: a clickable message with where you died, visible only to you.
- AFK tag: inactive players get a gray
[AFK]in the tab list. - Respawn Sickness: after dying you have 3 fewer hearts for 5 minutes. Dying again while still sick adds more time, up to 15 minutes.
/sicknessshows how long it still lasts. - Durability warning: a message and a sound when a tool or armor piece is about to break.
- Invisible item frames: sneak + right-click a frame with shears to hide it, so only the item shows.
Optional client extras
These only work when the jar is also installed on a NeoForge client:
- Chest Finder (G): remembers what was in every chest, barrel and shulker box you opened. Search for an item and see it outlined through walls. Works on any server.
- Light Overlay (F7): shows where monsters can spawn, also with Iris shader packs. Works on any server.
- Settings screen: operators can change every server setting in-game, including VeinMiner's settings if the server runs VeinMiner.
- Enchanter screen: a search and an overview for the Enchanter library.
- Field preview: outlines the crops a sneak-click harvest would take.
Installation
- Put the jar into the
modsfolder of a NeoForge server for Minecraft 26.2. - Restart the server. That's it: players join with their normal client.
Settings are in config/zorasvanillaplus-common.toml. Changes take effect while the server is running, and almost every feature can be switched off.
Compatibility
- Made on a server that also runs VeinMiner, Graves, Tree Harvester and Jade, and designed to work with them.
- It replaces the separate mods Replant Harvest and Double Doors. While either of those is still installed, the built-in feature stays off, so nothing happens twice.
- The mod replaces the vanilla files for Fortune, Unbreaking and Feather Falling, and the librarian enchanted book trades, so datapacks that change the same files may conflict.
