Winterly Revived
Snow bricks, gift boxes, garland lights and Santa hats, now on Minecraft 26.3. Winterly Revived brings the cosy winter and holiday mod Winterly to NeoForge for Minecraft 26.3, with a few fixes and additions of its own.
❄️ What's in the mod
Everything from the original Winterly:
- Building blocks: Dense Snow (with stairs and slabs), Snow Bricks (with stairs and slabs), Snowball Wall, Icicle Block, Packed Icicle Block, Icicle Pane, Icicle Bars and the Decorative Icicle.
- Holiday decorations: Garland Lights and Rainy Garland Lights, the Snowguy, Candy Canes in three colours and Gift Boxes in nine colours. Place a gift box, right-click it to put items inside and pick it up with Silk Touch to give it away.
- Cosmetics: Santa Hats (red, blue) and Scarves (white, red, green, blue, rainbow).
- Cryomarble: glowing Raw Cryomarble Shards on Overworld cave floors, crafted into Cryomarble and a full set of Cryomarble tools (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe).
- Frosty world: frozen grass and frozen flowers where snow falls, and decorative icicles hanging in the caves of cold biomes.
- Holiday mobs: from 25 December to 7 January (real date), some zombies and skeletons spawn wearing scarves and Santa hats.
🆕 New in Winterly Revived
- Decorative Icicle (renamed): Winterly's small hanging icicle is now called Decorative Icicle (
winterly:decorative_icicle), so it can't be confused with the new vanilla icicle coming in Minecraft 26.4. Existing worlds keep working: blocks, items in chests and inventories, dropped items and structure files that use the old ID are loaded as Decorative Icicles. Unlocked recipe-book entries for the four renamed icicle recipes have to be unlocked again. Data packs or other mods that refer towinterly:icicleneed to switch to the new ID. - Cave icicles can be turned off: the new option Generate Underground Decorative Icicles switches off the icicles in caves of cold biomes. It only affects newly generated chunks; icicles that already exist stay.
- NeoForge config, no Cloth Config needed: settings now live in
config/winterly-local.tomland can be changed in game under Mods → Winterly Revived → Config. Cloth Config is no longer required. If you have an oldconfig/winterly.json, its values are taken over once on the first start, and the old file is kept aswinterly.json.bak. - Finding Cryomarble: raw shards, shards and Cryomarble now have a tooltip that tells you where to look ("Raw shards glow on cave floors in the Overworld, around Y -20 to 20"), and there's a new advancement, Frozen Glow, for finding your first shard.
- Translations: German (new), Spanish (Mexico, from a community translation by @TheLegendofSaram) and Simplified Chinese (updated, from a community translation by @NumberSir). Russian from the original is included too. Some new texts (the Cryomarble hint, the advancement and the config screen) are only in English and German so far.
- Season Zones support: if the season mod Season Zones is installed, Winterly's frozen grass and flowers only appear where it is actually snowing, and naturally frozen plants thaw again when the snow stops (for example when a cold biome is set to summer). Without Season Zones, freezing works exactly like in the original Winterly.
- Fixes: the "Mob Decorations Enabled" switch now really turns holiday mobs off (before, it was ignored when "Only in Winter Holidays" was off), and Winterly no longer clashes with other mods that change the same snow code.
🧣 Wearing hats and scarves (Curios)
Santa Hats and Scarves are worn in Curios API slots (hat in the head slot, scarf in the necklace slot). Curios is optional: without it, the mod runs normally, but hats and scarves can't be worn (their tooltip tells you so).
⚙️ Config
config/winterly-local.toml, also in game under Mods → Winterly Revived → Config:
- Max Gift Box Capacity (item stacks per gift box)
- World Generation: underground decorative icicles, Cryomarble (both only affect new chunks)
- Freezing: frozen grass, frozen flowers
- Mob Decorations: on/off, only during the winter holidays, chance per spawned zombie or skeleton
👥 Multiplayer
Install Winterly Revived on the server and on every client. Curios, if you use it, also goes on both sides.
❓ FAQ
Is this the official Winterly? No. It's an unofficial continuation for Minecraft 26.3 on NeoForge, made with the original's MIT license. The original Winterly by PinkGoosik and VioletSomik is here. Please don't report problems with this version to the original authors.
Is there a Fabric or Forge version? No, only NeoForge for Minecraft 26.3.
Can I keep using a world that has Winterly blocks in it? Old icicles are loaded as Decorative Icicles (see above). Moving a world from an older Minecraft version (for example 1.21) to 26.3 is a big jump for every mod, so make a backup first.
Do I need it on the server and the client? Yes, on both.
Can I use it in a modpack? Yes. Winterly Revived is MIT-licensed like the original, so you're free to include it.
