What's new
Void Relic 1.0.10: the Nexus and the machines take only plain items
File: voidrelic-1.0.10+mc26.1.2.jar, for Minecraft 26.1.2.
A duplication through the Nexus
The Essence Nexus looked at the item and nothing else. Anything that asks a storage for an exact item, like an AE2 storage bus, an export bus with a filter, a pipe or Refined Storage's External Storage, could ask for a shulker box full of diamond blocks and get it whole, at the price of an empty one. It worked again and again.
The other way round lost things. A Sharpness V diamond sword pushed in was paid for as a plain diamond sword, and the enchantment was gone.
Now the Nexus trades only the plain version of an item. Anything carrying data of its own, contents, enchantments, a custom name, is refused, both going in and coming out. It is not stripped and sold. Plain items work as before.
If you play with a storage bus on the Nexus, update. The bus setting does not stop this, only the fix does.
The same rule for the machines
The Void Duplicator, the Essence Assembler and the ore multipliers (Void Pulverizer, Void Refinery, Void Singularity Forge) already refused a shulker box with things inside, but a stackable item was copied with whatever data it carried, at the price of the plain item. Nothing in vanilla is worth much this way, a named diamond or a banner with a pattern, but a mod can keep real contents on a stackable item.
The Essence Condenser and the Bulk Condenser paid the plain price for anything. A shulker box full of diamond blocks piped in was paid for as an empty one and the blocks were gone. A worn tool was paid for as a new one.
Now all of them take only the plain version of an item, the same as the Nexus. An item with data stays in the slot and the machine does nothing with it, and pipes and hoppers can no longer put one in. If you had an enchanted or renamed item sitting in one of these machines, take it out by hand. The Essence page of the guide says it too.
The guide explains how to hook the Nexus up
The Storage networks page of the guide said to connect the Nexus with cable. That works, but it pays from the network, not from the Nexus. It now says:
- With cable alone, the Nexus offers its items as recipes. The essence comes from the network's storage (ME Fluid Storage Cells on AE2), and AE2 needs a crafting CPU.
- To spend the essence stored in the Nexus, use an ME Storage Bus set to Extract Only, or on Refined Storage an External Storage with Access mode set to Extract only.
- Why extract only: AE2 treats the Nexus as the preferred storage for every item it knows, so with read and write it sends those items there first, and the Nexus buys them at 90%.
Updating
- Worlds from 1.0.9 open normally.
- Works with Pricetag 1.0.1 and later.
