A relic buried in the world, an economy built on what things are actually worth, and the machines that trade one for the other.
"Everything is worth something. The void keeps the ledger."

You do not craft the Void Relic. You find it — inert, cold, and hinting at what it could become. From there it advances only through ritual, one tier at a time, each one paid for with a catalyst drawn from your own pack's progression.

Each tier opens more of it: an aura that gathers what you break, then flight, then transmutation, then a reach wide enough that the void starts taking the living. Nothing is granted early and nothing is given twice.
The ritual altar is the only way it ever advances. Not a crafting recipe, not an upgrade slot — a structure you build, feed, and stand back from.

At the top of the ramp the relic opens onto the whole economy: everything the pack knows how to value, and a bank of essence to spend on it. Attune to a target and it converts as you go.

Here is the part no other mod does. Void Relic does not ship a value table, and it does not ask you to write one. It reads your pack's own recipes — every recipe, from every mod, including machine types nobody bothers to expose — and works out what each item is worth from what goes into it.
On All the Mods 11 that comes to 2,025 items priced from 2,979 recipes, with no configuration at all. Add a mod, and its items are priced too. Nothing to curate, nothing to maintain, nothing to go stale.
⚙️ The engine that does this is a separate library, Pricetag, which Void Relic requires. It is its own download, with its own public API, so any mod or pack can use the same economy without Void Relic at all. Void Relic is simply its first customer.
Everything else in the mod runs off that single number. Essence is the liquid form of it; the machines all convert value into other value, and every one of them takes a cut. Nothing here makes something from nothing.

Condensers turn matter into essence and back. Furnaces, pulverizers, refineries and the Singularity Forge run the ore chain at 2×, 3× and 4×. Miners pull from the ground, dynamos turn essence into power, collectors gather what falls, and the Void Heart sits at the end of it.
- 🔧 Built to automate — machines that produce a result only ever extract from their output slot, so pipes and hoppers cannot reach in and steal the inputs back.
- 📖 Full JEI integration — every machine shows its own category with everything the pack can put through it, the way the vanilla furnace does. Not a single generic recipe entry.
- 🔌 The Essence Nexus bridges the whole economy into Applied Energistics 2 and Refined Storage, so transmutation becomes just another crafting pattern.

Once it is bridged, the economy is just another crafting plan. Ask your ME system for something it cannot craft, and it will spend essence on it instead.

Left alone, the void gets on with things. Roughly once a day it looks for something to do, and if the moment suits it, it does it. Most of the time it finds nothing — each of these waits for its own occasion, so the gap between them is longer than a day and never the same twice.

- 🌫️ The Hush — the colour drains out of the world, the fog closes in, and nothing new is born. Nothing happens during a hush; that is the point of it. It is the warning, and something else always follows.
- ✨ Wisp Night — at dusk the ground starts to glow and keeps glowing until morning. The wisps are thickest above what is buried underneath: a vein under your feet becomes a column of light. For one night the world is a map of itself.
- 💧 Essence Rain — a storm that was already coming falls as essence instead of water. It never summons its own weather; it takes over one that was going to happen anyway. Anything open to the sky fills while it falls.
- 🕳️ The Tear — a crack opens in the sky, widens over a few minutes, and closes. It hangs at a fixed point rather than following you, so it is somewhere: you can turn towards it and walk under it, and everyone online sees the same one from their own angle.
- 👤 Mirrors — at night, silent figures appear where you have been and walk the walks you walked earlier. Translucent, faceless and entirely harmless.
🎛️ Every one of them can be switched off individually in
config/voidrelic-common.tomlunderworldEvents, along with a master switch and how often the void bothers to look.
Essence Rain is the one you can prepare for. The Essence Catcher is an open basin that catches essence and nothing else — 4,000 mB, 2 mB/t under open sky, no power, and completely inert in ordinary rain. A roof covered in them is a reason to want the weather.

A full set of tools, weapons and armour that do not break and do not care what a block is made of. The sword, the breaker, the eater, the tiller, the longbow and four pieces of armour, with switchable tool modes for precision or area work.
Their tooltips show ∞ rather than a number. Endgame gear that reports "+12 attack damage" looks like junk next to a modded weapon rolling four digits, and that number was never the point of it.

Void Relic ships with a complete in-game guide — over twenty pages covering the ore, the economy, every machine, the ritual altar, the events and the endgame. It is craftable from the start, and you should never need this page again once you have it.
The guide is hosted by GuideME, which is a required dependency for exactly this reason. If you run Applied Energistics 2, it is already in your pack.

⚠️ Void Relic requires Pricetag. It is a separate download and the mod will not load without it. Pricetag adds nothing to the game on its own — it is the engine that works out what everything is worth.
Required:
- NeoForge
- Pricetag — the value engine, a separate download
- Curios API (15.x) — genuinely required, not merely supported: the relic implements Curios' accessory interface in its own class, so the mod cannot load without it
- GuideME — hosts the in-game guide. Required because the guide is the only documentation this mod has, and shipping without it would be a worse product. It is a small library, and if you run Applied Energistics 2 you already have it.
Optional, each adding something:
- JEI — the per-machine recipe categories
- Applied Energistics 2 / Refined Storage — the Essence Nexus bridge
ProjectE is not required. If it is present, values are shared both ways. If it is not, the economy works exactly the same.
Install on both client and server.

You may include Void Relic in any modpack, public or private, free or monetised, provided the pack is distributed through an official platform (CurseForge, Modrinth) that downloads the mod from its official source. No need to ask — though remember to include Pricetag too, or the pack will not start.
Third-party add-ons and compatibility patches are welcome, as long as they do not bundle or redistribute this mod's files. Full terms are in LICENSE.txt inside the jar.

Void Relic stands on two MIT-licensed projects, with thanks:
- AvaritiaNeo, by AquaThree — the solidified block, chest, ingot, tool and armour textures here are recoloured from its infinity and neutronium artwork, and the Void set's tool modes and stats are modelled on its infinity gear.
- ProjectE-Integration, by TagnumElite — the item value data, included unmodified.
Full attribution is in LICENSE.txt inside the jar, where it travels with the mod rather than only living on this page.
