Description

Stop moving chests block by block — and stop leaving your farm animals behind, too.
Just grab the whole thing.

Ever spent ten minutes emptying a chest just to move it three rooms over? Or chased a cow across the map to get it into the right pen? Chest Transporter fixes both problems with the same tool: a mechanical, steampunk-styled device with a spring-loaded claw that opens up, grabs a chest — barrel, shulker box, mob spawner — with everything still inside it, or captures a whole living creature, and hands it back to you fully intact wherever you decide to put it down.
🚫 No more temporary inventories. No more "staging" chests. No more double chests torn apart mid-move. No more half-built pens before you go catch the animals.
✅ One click to pick up. One click to put down.

- 📦 Capture with the inventory intact — right-click a chest (double chests included), a barrel, a shulker box or any storage block from another mod, and the tool disassembles it along with everything inside.
- 🔄 Faithful placement — right-click a block to set it back down exactly as you found it: same orientation, same custom name, same lock.
- 🐄 Capture living creatures too — right-click a mob to bottle it up and release it somewhere else, exactly like a block. The tooltip always shows which creature you are carrying.
- 📈 A four-tier progression for mobs as well — wood captures passive animals, iron adds villagers and the wandering trader, diamond adds hostile creatures, netherite rounds it out with bosses (Wither and Warden included).
- 🔗 Native cross-mod compatibility — automatically recognises any chest or barrel, plus every vanilla variant, including copper chests at every oxidation stage.
- 👾 Works on mob spawners — vanilla and modded (e.g. Apothic Spawner).
- 🎒 Optional Curios support — with Curios API installed, a dedicated accessory slot lets you carry a loaded tool without spending a normal inventory slot. The mod works perfectly fine without it.
- 🦎 GeckoLib integration — fully animated models with smooth, lifelike motion that brings the steampunk aesthetic to life.
- 🎨 Polished models and textures — detailed, hand-crafted 3D models refined to sit naturally in the Minecraft world.
- ⚡ A miniature steam engine with genuinely rotating gears, a pulsing gauge and a spring-loaded claw that opens and closes with satisfying fluidity — because even a work tool can have personality.

Every tier is unlocked with a crafting-table recipe, in progression. The final jump to Netherite happens at the smithing table, following the same upgrade ritual as diamond tools — because a chest that weighs like a boulder (or a thrashing Warden) deserves the same treatment as a legendary sword.

- Requires NeoForge and GeckoLib.
- Optional: Curios API for the dedicated accessory slot.

Chest Transporter is an actively maintained project. I am committed to keeping it updated for new Minecraft versions, fixing bugs and compatibility issues as they surface, responding to community feedback, and continuously refining the mod.

The idea of "picking up a chest and carrying it elsewhere" isn't new: it comes from the classic Chest Transporter by cubex2 for Minecraft 1.12.2 and earlier — a small but beloved staple for anyone who has built a base with too many chests scattered around. Full credit for the original concept goes to them.
📜 A note on code and rights. cubex2's original mod is distributed all rights reserved. This project does not reuse, decompile or derive from any part of it — no code, no models, no textures, no assets of any kind. What was taken is only the base idea ("a tool that picks up a chest along with its contents"); everything else — game logic, mechanics, source code, 3D models, textures, animations, balancing — was written, modelled and animated entirely from scratch, on modern NeoForge with GeckoLib.
✨ This version expands significantly on the original concept: native cross-mod compatibility, double-chest handling, shulker box and mob spawner support, an entire four-tier creature capture system, optional Curios integration, GeckoLib-powered animations, and a completely new steampunk aesthetic.
