Villagers Have a Life
Your village. Their stories.
You know what your villagers sell. But do you know who they are?
Villagers Have a Life makes Minecraft villages feel more alive by giving their inhabitants personalities, moods, relationships, and reasons to interact. Get to know your neighbours, earn their trust, discover what they need, and watch small stories unfold around you.
That quiet librarian might take a while to warm up to you. A friendly farmer might appreciate a little conversation. And the villager you just annoyed? Perhaps give them some space before asking for a trade.
Meet the people behind the trades
Every villager has a persistent name, individual personality, and distinctive traits. Some are shy or curious. Others are generous, hardworking, grumpy, or a little mischievous.
Introduce yourself, and their name becomes visible above their head. Open the custom interaction menu to talk, discover their personality, and see how your relationship develops.
Conversations that mean something
Conversations follow branching topics, with responses shaped by the villager’s personality and circumstances. Your words can build trust or damage it.
Friendship takes time. A villager can gradually become an acquaintance, a friend, or someone who genuinely enjoys your company. Treat them poorly, and they may end the conversation or temporarily refuse to trade. A strong relationship and a cheerful mood can also bring small trading discounts.
A small gift goes a long way
Offer food, flowers, or useful supplies for their profession. Villagers can mention things they would appreciate, giving you a reason to return with something thoughtful.
Gifts use real items from your inventory. Fulfilling a wish can earn a little extra trust.
Life happens around you
Villagers can socialise, visit friends, develop rivalries, reconcile, and gradually form romantic partnerships. Occasional gatherings and personality-driven moments add a little warmth and humour to village life.
Subtle gestures make those interactions more expressive: a thankful nod, a shy lowered gaze, a disapproving shake of the head, or a curious glance around.
Still unmistakably Minecraft
The mod builds on familiar village life while keeping vanilla models, professions, workstations, trading, and breeding mechanics. Social activities give way to important needs such as danger, sleep, and trading.
Available in English, German, and Polish.
