A familiar face. A promise left unfulfilled.
You know his face. You may even have worn it.
At first, your world feels familiar. You gather wood, build a shelter, and settle in for the night. Then you notice someone standing between the trees.
He watches you.
When you look again, he is gone.
The Forgotten is a story-driven Minecraft horror mod that brings Steve back as an unsettling presence in your survival world. Distant sightings slowly give way to strange encounters, changes around your home, and hunts you may not be ready for.
But there is a reason he is still here.
Someone was supposed to come back.
An old photograph. Handwritten pages. A melody that once meant home.
Recover the traces of a life Steve can barely remember. Piece together what happened, discover who he has been waiting for, and learn why he is so afraid of being left behind again.
Some things he leaves for you are warnings. Others feel almost like an attempt to help.
It becomes harder to tell the difference.
What awaits you
An increasingly unsettling Steve. He watches from a distance, appears behind you, and disappears into smoke. As time passes, encounters become more dangerous.
Horror around your home. Knocking at doors and windows, strange signs, and changes you do not remember making.
Atmospheric sound and fog. Whispers, approaching heartbeats, sudden darkness, and a lingering haze, even without shaders.
Intense encounters and hunts. Watching him is not always safe. Neither is turning your back.
A story to uncover. Collect memories, read Steve's journal, and examine an old photograph you can turn over in your hands.
Items with a purpose. Field Notes, an unusual compass, a remembrance charm, and an old music box help you follow the story.
A way to reach him. You can do more than wait for the next encounter. Follow the clues and, when you are ready, try to call him yourself.
Before you begin
Play in Survival and let the story unfold. Your Field Notes arrive when you first join the world and provide guidance as you progress.
For an even more immersive experience, you can optionally use a dark, atmospheric shader. However, The Forgotten already introduces its own eerie fog and atmospheric effects, creating an unsettling environment even without shaders.
Headphones recommended. Shaders optional. Fear inevitable.
Contains jumpscares, loud sounds, darkness, and unsettling themes.
