I wouldn't say it is totally dead but I will not be updating it for now. I have made some progress updating for 1.7.10 however, and this can be found on this github branch.
And for modpacks, go nuts put it in whatever you like :)
I'm working on documenting each item in my mod over on github. And yes you can get pleather anywhere tall grass would spawn, there is also a chance from bonemealing grass
Could you please have some sort of tutorial in your description of how to use each item in the mod. The sneak for help doesn't seem to work. Thanks. Also, does pleather spawn naturally in the world?
Is this mod dead? Or is it in plans to be updated to 1.7.10? And if it is, what is your policy for modpacks and is this mod open source?

CHANGE OF PLAN
Started updating the mod to 1.7.10 (github link). Currently everything is in except storage balls (kinda) and Wall Teleporters (working on it)
