The Endless Pantheon
The Endless Pantheon is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge mod where players can ascend to immortal Endless and take responsibility for fundamental forces of the world. Each Endless has its own realm, powers, duties, and harsh consequences that can reshape core mechanics like sleep, death, destruction, emotion, and chaos when neglected.
Designed for both singleplayer and multiplayer, the mod focuses on long-term progression, roleplay, and world-scale cause-and-effect.
About the mod
Become an Endless
Claim a unique cosmic role such as Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, or Delirium. Only one player can hold each Aspect in a world at a time, with immortality, true-death, and succession rules shaping who wields that power.
Rule your own realm
Each Endless has a themed realm or domain where they are at their strongest and can bend reality to their nature. Realm presence and absence matter: staying away too long can destabilize your domain and spill problems into the waking world.
Duties and consequences
Endless Aspects are not just power-ups. They come with ongoing duties that must be fulfilled to keep the world in balance. Neglect sleep, death, destruction, or emotion, and the universe compensates in extreme ways from insomnia and half-death to locked-in stasis or overwhelming despair and chaos.
Singleplayer and multiplayer aware
Systems are designed to work both solo and on servers. Where duties reference "other players", they can adapt to NPCs, structures, or world events so that a single player can still fully experience an Aspect's mechanics.
Configurable and modpack-friendly
Many thresholds and behaviors are data-driven and configurable, allowing modpack authors to tune how punishing or forgiving each Aspect is and how strongly neglect affects the world.
Current progress
This section stays general. Detailed changes are in version changelogs.
- The core Endless framework is active: seat system, holder data, world-state effects, and immortality/true-death logic.
- Dream is fully playable as a beta branch and remains the primary realm-duty-consequence reference implementation.
- Death is fully integrated as a playable branch with half-dead lifecycle systems, rites, and oath consequences.
- Destruction is now integrated as a third playable branch with the Forge of Endings realm, duty/stasis loop, creation quota rules, and ritual claim path.
- Desire is now integrated as a fourth playable branch with The Threshold realm, influence/contracts systems, duty pressure, and ritual claim path.
- Despair is now integrated as a fifth beta-playable branch with the Mirror Abyss realm, mark/harvest duty loop, state pressure, and ritual claim path.
- Delirium is now integrated as a sixth beta-playable branch with the Kaleidoscope realm, prismatic sight, wandering-thread guidance, contradiction powers, ritual claim path, and seat-loss rules.
- Destiny remains planned for a future update following the same duty-and-consequence philosophy.
For precise feature lists, balance tweaks, and implementation details per version, refer to each release changelog.
How to become each Endless (current working rituals)
Dream ritual (working)
- Go to the Overworld at sunset during a full moon.
- Make sure the Dream seat is vacant and you do not already hold another Endless seat.
- Build the Dream altar and place a Respawn Anchor on top:
- Layer 5 (bottom): 9x9 Iron Blocks
- Layer 4: 7x7 Gold Blocks
- Layer 3: 5x5 Emerald Blocks
- Layer 2: 3x3 Diamond Blocks
- Layer 1 (top core): 1x1 Netherite Block
- Hold a Nether Star in your main hand.
- Sneak-right-click the Respawn Anchor to start the ritual.
- Survive until dawn while keeping altar integrity and staying near it.
- If successful, the Dream seat is claimed and you are pulled into the Dreaming.
Dream notes
- The ritual fails if you leave the Overworld, go too far, the altar is broken, or another player claims the seat first.
- The ritual structure is destroyed on success and on failure (no drops).
- If you are holding a Totem of Undying in off-hand, the ritual input is treated as Death ritual flow, not Dream.
Death ritual (working)
- Go to the Overworld at sunset during a full moon.
- Make sure the Death seat is vacant and you do not already hold another Endless seat.
- Build the Death altar and place a Respawn Anchor on top:
- Layer 3 (bottom): 5x5 Crying Obsidian
- Layer 2: 3x3 Ancient Debris
- Layer 1 (top core): 1x1 Netherite Block
- Build 4 pylons around the anchor in one valid layout (one pylon per side).
- Each pylon must be a Soul Lantern with 3 Soul Soil blocks directly below it.
- Hold a Nether Star in main hand and a Totem of Undying in off hand.
- Sneak-right-click the Respawn Anchor to start the ritual.
- Survive until dawn while staying near the altar and keeping it intact.
Death notes
- Hostile pressure waves can spawn during the channel.
- Sleeping, dying, leaving the Overworld, breaking altar integrity, or disconnecting fails the ritual.
- The ritual structure is destroyed on success and on failure (no drops).
- A cooldown may apply after a failed/canceled ritual depending on config.
- Servers can require zero unforgiven kills before starting Death ritual.
- If blocked by kill-history requirements, use soul cleansing:
- Sneak-right-click a Soul Campfire at night during full moon
- Main hand: Ghast Tear
- Off hand: Glass Bottle
Destruction ritual (working)
- Go to the Overworld at sunset during a full moon.
- Make sure the Destruction seat is vacant and you do not already hold another Endless seat.
- Build the Destruction altar and place a Respawn Anchor on top:
- Layer 3 (bottom): 5x5 Crying Obsidian
- Layer 2: 3x3 Ancient Debris
- Layer 1 (top core): 1x1 Obsidian
- Hold a Nether Star in main hand and TNT in off hand.
- Sneak-right-click the Respawn Anchor to start the ritual.
- Survive until dawn while staying in range and keeping altar integrity.
Destruction notes
- Ritual pressure includes hostile and blast events during channeling.
- The ritual fails if you leave the Overworld, move too far, sleep, die, disconnect, or altar integrity breaks.
- You must meet the mined-block entry gate before the ritual can begin (configurable by server owners).
- The ritual structure is destroyed on success and on failure (no drops).
Desire ritual (working)
- Go to the Nether at sunset during a full moon.
- Make sure the Desire seat is vacant and you do not already hold another Endless seat.
- Find a Bastion Remnant and place a Lodestone inside it (your ritual anchor).
- Wear full Netherite armor before starting and keep it on for the full ritual.
- Hold a Nether Star in main hand and sneak-right-click the Lodestone to begin.
- Complete ritual objectives while staying valid in the Bastion:
- Eat 1 Enchanted Golden Apple
- Eat 8 Golden Apples
- Give gold to Piglins 24 times (barter objective)
- Return to the same Lodestone, hold a Ghast Tear in main hand, and sneak-right-click to finalize.
Desire notes
- The ritual fails if you leave the Nether, leave the Bastion anchor context, remove/break netherite armor, or the anchor is broken.
- You must stay near the Lodestone anchor during channeling.
- The Desire seat must remain vacant for the full process.
Despair ritual (working)
- Go to the Overworld and find an Ancient City.
- Make sure the Despair seat is vacant and you do not already hold another Endless seat.
- Place a Lodestone inside the Ancient City as your ritual anchor.
- Have at least 7 deaths recorded on your player stats by default (server-configurable).
- Hold a Nether Star in main hand and an Echo Shard in off hand.
- Sneak-right-click the Lodestone to begin.
- Remain inside the Ancient City and near the Lodestone while the ritual channels.
- If successful, the Despair seat is claimed and you are pulled into the Mirror Abyss.
Despair notes
- The ritual fails if you leave the Overworld, leave the Ancient City, move too far from the anchor, die, sleep, disconnect, or the Lodestone is broken.
- The ritual applies oppressive status effects during the channel.
- The required death count, ritual duration, and range are configurable by server owners.
Delirium ritual (working)
- Stay away from generated structures for at least 10 in-game days so you become eligible for Delirium.
- Wait for a new moon night in the Overworld.
- Make sure the Delirium seat is vacant and you do not already hold another Endless seat.
- Get Nausea and keep it active for the full ritual.
- Place a Sniffer Egg outside any generated structure.
- Arrange every vanilla flower and every vanilla sapling within the required radius around the egg.
- Hold a Nether Star in main hand and sneak-right-click the Sniffer Egg to begin.
- Before dawn, enter any generated structure while still nauseated.
- Stay inside the structure for the final channel to complete the ritual.
Delirium notes
- The altar does not require a strict flower/sapling pattern, only valid presence around the Sniffer Egg.
- The ritual fails if Nausea drops, dawn arrives, the altar breaks, you leave the Overworld, die, sleep, disconnect, or the seat becomes unavailable.
- Any generated structure can count, including modded structures.
Destiny
Destiny is still planned. Its ascension ritual is not yet implemented in the current public build.
